Devon Allman & Honeytribe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpAVuXUeshY As much as I love the new stuff with Warren and Derek, Dickey missing just doesn't sound right, the more I listen to his stuff, but I've been listening to Honeytribe this past couple of weeks and I anticipate seeing them and Gregg at the Norva, after New Years.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Em80ViNVlHM Awwwww shit.. I think I just fooled a few people. I remember when they had none of Dickey & GS
Yeah, I think The Beetles suck. I'm more of a Rolling Stones man. When someones playing music, I don't want them to be standing there like a bunch of fucking candle sticks, waiting for the stage lights to melt them. I want to see some fucking action, and guitars flying around the fucking place! That's why I fucking adore The Mars Volta. The Beetles were extremely over rated, but created a generation due to that fact.
dude. seriously. i love you. i get shit for liking certain music, but... if something has the potential to make you happy when shouldn't you let it? why does it always have to be "good" or justified? frivolous pop music and musical soundtracks and culture club and cartoon theme songs are music just like anything else is music. it's just sounds piled on top of eachother in a certain sequence; it's just waves of energy being filtered through your mind. you can appreciate the extra love and attention to details, innovation, creativity, an interesting story that goes along with it, or memories the sounds bring up, which make you percieve a song as being especially good... but if you can't, you can still appreciate it as what it basically is. sounds that someone intentionally put together to convey a message...
well you know for sure John Lennon has some because he posed naked with Yoko on one of its experimental records ..
yeah he was quite known for beating Cynthia , his first wife ... Everybody has an ugly side though but wife beating is horrible. It doesn't stop me from liking his music though ...
I remember I was talking to my friend Aly once and I mentioned how something was like a Beatles song and she responded that she didnt really like the Beatles. I was pretty floored by that because The Beatles have been present in my life since birth, thanks to my music-loving dad. And how could you not love them? I can pick out a Beatles song/album for any mood I am in. Its times like these where I really appreciate the fact that my dad raised us kids on good music. I make a point of trying to accept my friend's love of pop and manufactured rap. THe thought of it is just disturbing though.
i'm on mushrooms right now and i definately felt like i melted, after reading that. that was so cool. do it again. you're a very beautiful person.
