Got my offer for Brighton, 240 points or CCC (think they like me, that's below the normal offer) Going to stay in Aber in february, I'm really torn now!
I just read the whole thread... you did mean Aberystwyth. As I only live 30 minutes away from there, if you'd like an honest opinion of the place (and when you said "nice" did you really mean it??) I can help you out. Trst me, Aberystwyth is NOT a nice place to be. It is the road to nowhere, it's ugly and most people end up jumping off the pier to their deaths. Need I say more? What courses have you picked? If you like the area and are interested in the liberal arts then fuck Aberystwyth and come to Lampeter (I'm studying SH Archaeology and Anthropology).

Well it's your choice mate, but I seriously wouldn't recommend having to spend the next 3 years of your life stuck (and you literally will be stuck unless you can drive) in Aberystwyth... my friends spent a year there and moved to Lampeter instead as they hated winter in Aber. Don't get me wrong though, Wales is an awesome place to live and Aber is lovely IF you can leave... Goginan area is beautiful, as are the Cambrian mountains, but you will need to drive because the bus services aren't the most reliable.
I'm a student in my second year.. and oh my - I can't wait to go home for xmas, where there is real food and heating!
