I'm sorry but some of you have to be the biggest douchebags I have ever seen. You're happy that a man is dead merely because he thought the Earth may be flat and you mock him for trying to accomplish something he believed in?

I'm not wrong and I could care less. Anybody who wants to accomplish something has to start somewhere and in some circumstances may have to risk their lives.
It wasn't foolish and he died trying to prove his beliefs. It wasn't stupid but I believe it to be courageous.

 

None of these things are mutually exclusive, though.

Foolish. Fools always believe in themselves and what they're doing. If self belief and subjectivity are a consideration than no one in human history was ever a fool.

Again tho... I think I get what you're saying... There isn't much worthwhile to be gained by kicking at a dead man. His story teaches all the lessons it needs to.
