Summer Lovin' - Recent Photos 2016

They are good!

Overall I enjoyed it because it's the first time I've been to a show outside a bar type setting in a few years.

Modest Mouse actually went on first to my surprise, the other band was Brand New who I am not too familiar with. There were a couple songs I wish they would have played but I really liked the pace and fluidity of the setlist they did play.

Beer prices were ridiculous...

 

Oh, beer prices always are. I rarely drink at concerts anyways, because I hate having to leave the show to go pee.

Brand New you say? That is MattEkats favorite band. I used to listen to them in my early 20's. How are they live?

I am going to see Weezer and Andrew McMahon tomorrow, and I can't fucking wait.

 

Was it at least good beer or was sold in a glass that holds a proper quantity? If I hate one thing about such events around here it is that they have too small glasses. I empty it with to big slugs (and no, not that's not because I'm such a rapid or heavy drinker ). German events are a delight in that regard.

 

They were different than I was expecting, it was ok for me. My friends knew them better and enjoyed them. We were able to get on the floor for Brand New because because some people gave us their wrist bands.

It was good beer and the glasses were substantial but still I felt demoralized and a full blown alcoholic spending as much on beer as the goddamn ticket.

This is not my picture, but a picture of the same show. I think it sums up how fucking incredible it was. Two down, one more to go. Saturday is team USA, and I couldn't be more excited.

 

I was going to ask how you got such a great shot! I think you need some fancy equipment or optimal settings to catch fireworks well. I want to try get some shots one day. Might be a while, towns and cities here (Ontario too) are all on budget cuts and drastically reducing fireworks displays. Might get them once a year. Canada Day usually.

Phone and tablet cameras don't pick up the moon well. Amazingly bad actually. Even with a good camera, you have to get the (manual) settings just right or you still get only a white blob. I learned that when I was trying to get the red moon a couple of summers back. It's so disappointing when you see the beautiful moon but the camera doesn't!

Twin took this one the other night and added the filter. I like it.

 

It's still so hot, hot, hot, everyone was scrambling to find any bit of shade. Luckily I found a spot available under a couple of trees to rest for a while and cool down.

 

This is how summer is supposed to be! What helps in your and mine part of the world is of course that we never have the whole summer like this (otherwise I might nag on sweaty summer days too, but now not so much )
