So pretty, Heat. I miss my flower gardens, but there are a lot of trees here. Lilacs and cherry trees mostly, so there are some nice blossoms. I just discovered there's a horseradish patch! Not very pretty but should be tasty. Can't wait to harvest that. I'll have to incorporate it into my fermenting.
A nighttime shot of the courtyard with all the hanging lanterns! And then a shot from when I was walking down the hill to pick apricots. We got a few bin full of them today and that is just the beginning! The rest are still ripening, so I will be picking fruit all weekend.
Love those hanging lanterns! Re the cabin... Just call it rustic, sounds better than dilapidated. lol
It looks like that's what it is, thanks! I haven't seen one before. Apparently cormorants like to swim underwater to catch fish. I guess they like swimming with their bodies submerged too. I only saw it neck up when it was swimming, a funny sight. With most other water birds you see their bodies as well. http://www.istockphoto.com/video_passthrough/7605474/153/7605474.mp4
I thought the same thing. At first it looked like a sinking bird to me. And yes we shall call it rustic haha!
I usually take some video to send to my friends too and at first I thought it was a duck (hard to see on the tiny dark screen of the camera, I'm often not sure what I'm filming) and I quipped that the ducks must have been snacking too much and are too heavy to stay afloat. Then I thought it might be injured, except it seemed to be happily swimming along. Now we know!
Nice!!! I have never grown this but I do get it at the market. I am also thinking now of a nice roast beef dinner!
this is Ben, hes a mini blue shari pea. he is blind and was adopted by the handler because he was blind.. and my gf.
Beautiful dog. The breeder should have known to do eye tacks as a pup, what a shame. Glad someone loves him and has given him a good home.
both his eyes are white. sorry no other pictures of him. we met him and the handler at the mall .. in fact, I wanted to walk all the way to the Ben when I seen him while we parked the car. I like people with friendly dogs. he was way cooler once we knew his history. hope we see him again sometime.
We had a cold wet June (May was warmer!) then the heat suddenly hit in the second week of July, from cold right into high heat. I hate when that happens, how can you acclimate so quickly? I'm sure it's on the way to you. Get your swimming trunks ready, and hoses and ice baths… And cold cocktails!
