That wasn't the purpose of this war stated by Bush/Cheney, Colin Powell and Company. You can't change the motive after the event.

    http://www.commondreams.org/headlines02/1020-02.htm

Even Bush's church was against the war.

As to your reasoning on collateral damage, then you would have to consider whether or not the murder of the Kurds which Sadaam has been demonized over was collateral damage, and if it was then you have to drop that argument. And we aren't even sure who caused that collateral damage. If the gassing of the Kurds occurred during a military conflict and the original target were Iranian troops wouldn't that make the Kurd victims collateral damage?

This is the text of the actual war act that authorized our invasion of Iraq:
    http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/10/20021002-2.html

As a soldier you should have been familiar with the reason for combat. And what's sad is Congress should have demanded proof. And as US citizens how many of those claims have been shown to be fabrications? Why hasn't Congress acted?

If falsification of the reasons for creating a preemptive war aren't enough for impeachment, then Monica's little blue dress would have been a huge joke on the American public.

They are just having fun in a boring land. The kids seemed to be enjoying it. They are just kids. They will eventually learn to repect us as they get older.:cheers2:

Eventually learn to respect us? What about us respecting them? And if they don't I suppose in your vision of the world they just won't get any older.

The more I read of your posts, the more I believe you are probably a preteen girl.

BORING LAND??? What the hell does that mean?

And your use of beer drinking smileys in a thread discussing life and death issues for people is offensive. This is not a computer game or tv show. People are dying and being maimed on both sides. Economies are being ruined with the expenses of extended war. It's not a humorous topic.

No I wouldn't. And if you are what we are supposed to be supporting I refuse to support adolescent misbehavior.

The last time I heard the term comrade used so often was during the cold war and the rise of communism. Better check your marketing focus.

These guys are following orders? What they have orders to tease the children of Iraq and Afghanistan?

How do you know I haven't been? Perhaps we could exchange serial numbers and compare service records?

The United States always fights for freedom. A synonym for "freedom" is "oil." :D:D:D

how dare you use the word "comrade". what those insurgents did to you and your "comrades"? YOUR INVADING THEIR HOME!!! YOUR DESTROYING THEIR NATION AND ECONOMY!!! you dont have to worry about your home being blown up, or your family being murdered/imprisoned; THEY DO! by the way, your just proving that all you "brave marines" are mindless, brainwashed, and sadistic because all you can do is follow orders. your a complete moron.

the war on iraq had no basis
    there were no wmds found
the british scientist (david kelly) who exposed the lie for the war on iraq was found dead - suicide supposedly.
the allied government s have continued the war despite the facts so what does this mean?

well then the war on iraq was never about wmds - as none were ever found why didn't they pack up and go home??

why did the american government declare war on a former ally in the middle east.

even more disturbing as the years pass it has become increasingly obvious that washington is taking and carrying out orders that are not in the interest of its own people or anyone else. i see obama is busily promoting himself at aipac obviously he knows which way the wind blows.

apparently you don't live in bush country .. there are lots of people in my area that believe exactly as this troll.

this troll is regurgitating bush/neocon/repug mantra ..
in his one statement, he says we went into Iraq to rid it of an evil dick-tater, but fucktards (bush) reason for going into Iraq was WMD's, when that didn't pan out, then he changed it to "rid Iraq of an evil tyrant" when Saddam was captured/murdered, then it changed again to "bring democracy to Iraq and make it the example for the region", well the Iraqi people have had their election (democracy in action) so why are we still there ? come on troll answer me, why are US troops still in Iraq ? we met every single reason bush came up with on being there.

oh, and shit for brains (bush) took the US military away from the "real" war on terror, the action in Afganistan. If we (USA) had poured just one tenth of the effort in Afganistan that was done in Iraq, then things would far different. The money wasted in Iraq could have been better spent on making Afganistan the model of democracy for the region. bush squandered this. oh, and I am also retired US military USAF.
