The thread was started by Confederate Rebel, a single issue poster who has gone as far as spamming for a white power convention featuring David Duke.

Don't bullshit me and the people on this board by accusing me of bringing up race. I'm responding to an admitted racist who is here to spread his white power nonsense by posting on hipforums. You align yourself with an advocate of white power, and make the same arguments using the same code words and disingenuous techniques, and you don't want me to think you are in the same camp? Worse, you for some reason are pretending that I am a racist for recognizing the massive social progress that was made in one big leap on Nov. 4th, 2008?

The recognition of and desire to make amends for a historical injustice perpetrated against people of color in this country is not racism. That's a preposterous charge, the last throws of the already stinking corpse of socially sanctioned racism in this country.

the thread is about the ongoing lawsuit about obama, i dont care what the intent of the OP was, that lawsuit is about citizenship not race. i asked a ON TOPIC hypothetical question and you have proceeded to go completely off topic in a attempt to label me a racist..

hate to tell ya,all you have done is shown yourself to have race issues in the process..
ever hear the old sayin "me thinks you protest to much"? i think that pretty much says it all here...

If you'll read closely, I haven't actually labelled YOU anything. I've denounced your words. It's up to you to let everyone know where you stand.

youve insinuated over and over and yet ive said nothing about race.. YOU HAVE!!
ive said over and over in several threads the same thing ive said here.WE SHOULD NOT LABEL THE MAN SOMETHING HE IS NOT,WE SHOULD NOT LABEL HIM AT ALL IT ONLY SERVES TO DIVIDE!!

you on the other hand continue to insist on labeling him and using slave owners opinions as justification for the label you choose to put on him..

i have said many times where i stand on this issue so folks should already know and now youve shown everyone in this thread where you stand..

good job MJ now everyone knows you desperately want to keep the racial and ethnic divides in place

Obama is a black man. I am exceedingly proud of my country for electing a black man. That label you denounce me for using is the very label that will help heal our country, our national consciousness. That which was used to marginalize, to dehumanize, and to destroy the lives of good people for the benefit of those who profit from division, will be the symbol that brings us together.

Think about it. In a land where less than 30 years ago, a black man was once again lynched, and where black men had to use different water fountains not 60 years ago, where white people owned, literally owned black people less than 200 years ago, a black man is president elect.

While there is so much more to this remarkable man, to the whole world, we have taken this one incredible step, something so simple and yet so hard for any society to accomplish: we have overcome racial division, and elected a black man to the most powerful office in the land.

Again I ask you, do you stand with "Confederate Rebel" and his message of hate and denial of our shameful history, or do you stand with those who would bridge the divides that keep our people divided? He can speak for himself, and he has. What do you have to say, other than the preposterous charge that acknowledging one of the most remarkable moments in modern history is somehow the result of a perverted obsession?

You know what I find perverted? I find perverted, and obsessive, this attempt to stir xenophobia and racism, those two hallmarks of jingoist filth, by asserting that only a giant conspiracy could produce such a stunning electoral result.

like i said, even he referred to himself as a "mutt",but if you wanna keep labeling him something he isnt in hopes of it adding shock value or for whatever reason go right ahead but dont insinuate im something im not simply because you feel the need to keep racial divides in the forefront of discussions about the man...

ive stated how i feel about the subject but it seems you are hell bent on wanting to create some kind of divide that isnt and SHOULDNT be there so there really is no sense in continuing this discussion..

as i said before, you can go back in your closet now youve shown who you really are..

There is a divide that should exist here, between those who are reasonable and accept that our president-elect is Barack Hussein Obama, and those who are stoking jingoist fears and questioning the fact he is a natural born (not "naturalized", as you said) citizen.

so because of that you brought race into it? good job there MJ you just keep digging your hole..

and for the record never once in this thread did i even so much as imply i supported the lawsuit..
i stated i heard a interview and the guy sounded like he thought he had a chance and then i said "lets pretend" and asked a valid hypothetical question(which never was addressed) and then you proceeded to go completely off topic and brought race into it..

your all about creating divides it seems to me..

kinda a bigoted way of thinking aint it??

How come I have seen proof of his citizenship on more than one occasion? It's a question of if this is forged?

There is a divide. and there always will be....the ones that are right and the other ones that are right. Congrats to you both for your accomplishment in this task.

I brought up race, as a factor driving this kind of lawsuit. You responded by indicating you find it "hilarious" that barack obama is labeled "black" or "african-american".

It's not "hillarious", for the reasons I stated.

    I'm not all that concerned.

I don't think birth rights should dictate whether you can run for Presidency or not, anyway. It's just another glass ceiling effect keeping the black man down.

ok man like i said, you hold strong to your divisive mindset if thats what strokes your ego and gives you validity in your mind to make false accusations and assumptions about others.
as for me i will continue to try to break the barriers that you are trying so hard to keep in place..IMO that wall has been torn down but obviously you cant handle there being no divide..
so on this subject i guess we will just have to agree to disagree..

there should no longer be a ceiling keeping anyone down, thats the whole point..

as far as the lawsuit, the constitution says what it says,i didnt write the damn thing(the constitution) and for whatever reason that lawyer seems hell bent on seeing it through to the end.however i am not willing to take MJ's stance and claim its all about race because i have NO PROOF of that being the motive (nor does MJ for that matter).

as for me,i really dont care one way or the other we are going to be in a bad bad way as a nation for a very long time no matter who was elected..

HH, your original question about IF the birth certificate was invalid was a good, on topic question.

I'd like to think if Obama was found ineligible, the chain of command or whatever it is called would then go to the VP.

But in reality, I think it would mean a complete and total breakdown. I don't see the Supreme Court invalidating this election. They would find some legal ground to stand on. After all, if Obama ends up not having his papers in order, the fault lies with his parents, not him.

id like to know if there is even a plan to deal with such a thing.. lol but not enough to research it..

and even if he is not legit,at this point i think its better that they just let it go..
it wouldnt be pretty if it turned against his favor..

i don't think it's ever 'better' to keep a lie going, rather than to reveal the truth.

If he ISN'T elligible to hold the office,

everyone that fell for the scam should be suitably horrified with their complete lack of any sort of common sense, and their inability to spot bullspit when it's right under their noses.

Unfortunately, i'm afraid that there would also be major rioting in the streets.

    If he IS elligible,

i'd sure like to know how anyone is rationalizing away hiding his birth certificate, forcing absolutely frivolous lawsuits, and wasting tax payer monies and court times on some sort of silly game...
