Sweatshop clothing

    Yeah, they're are so happy and grateful for their jobs!

    I watched a Human Rights Commission Tribunal on CPAC a few weeks back about a proposed free-trade agreement with a south American country. The 'but they want jobs so they should be happy that they'll be getting sweatshops' and the lady trying to explain that yes, they want job but they want jobs that will treat them with a modicum of dignity and not barely paid servitude and a trip to the company store.

    I get all my clothes second hand.... so I have no idea where it comes from, but i think it's good in the sense that i'm reusing and not purchasing.

    Yeah, certain factories owned by Apple have the suicide nets outside. Sad really.

    I buy most of our clothes second hand, because it's cheaper.
    I don't try to avoid sweatshops, but I do try to avoid poor quality if I am buying new items.
