Bible said something about America? Yes, it does and no I did not make it up. actually it says lot about America and the world we find ourselves in. For 30 years I have studied the prophecies. The future of America and the world is recorded in the bible. It's the only book that speaks of history before it happens. According to the bible, God states that in the latter days He would allow the Jewish people to return back to the land of Israel. He also said that they would also occupy Jerusalem, and they would be surrounded by enemies. God states He did not allow them back into their land because of themselves. For He states that the Jewish people polluted His name where ever they wandered. Thousands of years ago God gave that land to the Jewish people. Because of their disobedience God allowed the Romans to drive them out of their land. Yet, God said that in the latter days He would allow them to return. The nations of the world do not recognize God's promise to the Jews. In the years ahead of us the bible states that Russia will rise up with many Islamic nations to drive the Jews out. These same nations will threaten America with nuclear war unless we drop our support for Israel. America will have little choice but to give in because no president is going to risk nuclear war for Israel. Israel will stand alone to face the entire Islamic world. It will be at this time that the one they nailed to a cross will step forward to defend them. I believe Israel's nuclear option will have been neutralized. God states that as soon as the nations begin their assault on Israel God will shake the entire earth, and He will target the invaders destroying five sixths of their army. Russia will not believe this was an act of God and immediately launch a first strike at America. The bible states that our nations cities will burn and our citizens will fall in the streets. It also states that all of our cities and wealth will come to an end in one hours time. Afterwards the sun will be dimmed the stars will not shine and the moon will appear blood red. It states that no one will ever be able to live in that nation again. There is really so much more, but that is a short clip. We are now living in the latter days. And America's days are truly numbered. What you see happening in the world is the beginning of this conflict.
I'll give you points for honesty campbell. Many of those that think this somehow qualifies them to speak up about political trends don't admit it and don't admit what they believe. It's frightening. You're frightening, and the political group that manipulates you is frightening. There is doubt that the world will go up in a ball of flames even though more and more extremists like you are 'acting' on their beliefs. I hope you don't begin to actively pursue the end you're talking about. I hope you don't want such a thing in order to validate spending thirty years of your life doing......heaven knows what. I'll submit that we need to combat 'that' trend. The trend to minimize what we know is decent behavior and instead example what's generally accepted as the worst parts of our nature in order to serve our God. When I'm being an ass, I don't claim it's in the name or for the purpose of God. I'm ashamed that we've allowed our political discussions to sink so low.
Remember how unpopular the cival war was and do you remember how the Democrats did not want to give up their slaves. And do you remember how it took a Republican President and congress to go to war and free the slaves. Just wanted to remind you.
I am all for voting for Bush. The Swift Boat Vets called out Kerry on his lies and all he can say in reply is "But, but, I won 3 purple hearts!". As far as the pic in the first post, it wasn't amusing. It wasn't intelectual. It was garbage. I will come back here and type more later. As for now, I am tired and ready for bed. Bush For president!
So because they freed the slaves they should be able to do whatever they want now? I support neither the democrats OR republicans. All this means is that you probably know a lot about the bible (which is fine), but just because you studied a book you think predicts the future, now you know ALL about America? Funny, though, I don't remember the Bible even mentioning America, and I myself have put a good deal of time in studying the Bible. And I know that you are into the whole "america is the new babylon" thing, but any historian without religious bias will tell you that the "new babylon" john talks about was Rome. and this: Not everyone is make political decisions about this country based off of what some book written thousands of years ago tells them. That's just idiocy. People have been hearing this shit from the church for years. In a thousand years (if christianity lasts that long) people will be using this shit against the newest "super power" in the world. But tell me this, does the bible say anything about Austin? I want to make sure I miss out on any nuclear attacks some man 3,000 years ago seemed to know about (you know all the nuclear technology they had back then and all...).
^^--I'm with Sera here... I've spent a whole ton of time studying these very prophesies too... I'm fascinated by it. But, the "America is Babylon" holds absolutely no merit. For all the little quotes of passages you keep posting up, you leave just as many out that aren't convenient for your argument. I want to know what your goal here is. Are you trying to convert people with this rubbish? I only know two people that I've ever met that I'd truly call Christains, mainly because I know them very well and know how they live their lives. You want to know how they show people that the bible is "the way"? They do it by showing the inherit wisdom it contains, the power of its message; not by trying to prove it scientifically. Trying to validate the bible through science is futile.
Nobody wants to here about the Bible... they killed all the prophets and they killed john the baptist and it is natural to take a hard line against the Bible because most do ot want to here the truth. Well did your two friends impacted you.... are you a christian? He is taking it from this approach because most people want proof..... If the Bible was trully the world of God then it would not lie... and I think Campbell is trying to show this to everyone on this forum. Also PLEASE PUT THE VERSES THAT DISPROVE THAT AMERICA IS NOT BABYLON This is what I believe his goal is with the Babylon prophecies: As the future of the human race progresses, we are approaching the time of the ultimate confrontation. The author of good and the embodiment of evil will meet to do battle at a place called Armageddon. As that final hour approaches, many Christians are asleep at the switch. Instead of warning the world of God's impending and inescapable judgement, many priests and ministers are preaching a "watered downed" gospel and turning their sanctuaries into social classrooms. They preach nothing but "feel good" messages. They spoon feed their congregation and actively resist any talk of Christ's return. These "feel good" churches are the leading cause of the "dumbing down" of the American Christian. The conflict in the Middle East, between Israel and its neighbors, is the beginning of the end of time as we know it. Yet, from so many pulpits across America, we hear nothing but silence, which has left large numbers of church attenders and young people clueless. If the church cannot find its voice and warn the world of God's Return, then who will? The signs of His coming are everywhere. Now is the time for all Christian churches to stand up, present the evidence of the coming of our Christ, and give a lost world a chance to be saved from the wrath of God--which will surely come.
That's the dumbest thing i've read all day. The burden of proof is not on us it's on you. disprove that some children are eaten by green unicorns, you can't disprove a product of imagination. take some classes and then come back please.
First off, I can prove that certain passages in the Bible are incorrect. There are tons and tons of passeges that historians have shown are incorrect and that the vast majority of organized denomonations accept as fact, because it is fact. Other people are coming down on Campbell so hard because he can't prove his point, and I for one, can prove that he's wrong. As for this: I've already posted this, but look more closely this time.... Isaiah 13:19-20:19 "And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, The beauty of the Chaldeans' pride, Will be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. It will never be inhabited, Nor will it be settled from generation to generation". We are not descended from the Chaldeans. Fundamental Christianity cannot be defended, imo. The Bible is not infallible. The fact that several books aren't even included in it raises many many questions. Why are only parts of the Enuma Elish used to make the book of Genesis? Why aren't all the Jubilees included? Why are the dead sea scrolls not included? Could an infallible God have allowed this to happen? I'm not trying to disprove Christianity, please understand this. It's a faith based religion; it can't be proven.
All this means is that you probably know a lot about the bible (which is fine), but just because you studied a book you think predicts the future, now you know ALL about America? Funny, though, I don't remember the Bible even mentioning America, and I myself have put a good deal of time in studying the Bible. -Does it mention the name Jesus in the old testiment? And I know that you are into the whole "america is the new babylon" thing, but any historian without religious bias will tell you that the "new babylon" john talks about was Rome. -The descriptions doesn't even fit rome.... Please provide scripture that does. and this: Not everyone is make political decisions about this country based off of what some book written thousands of years ago tells them. That's just idiocy. People have been hearing this shit from the church for years. In a thousand years (if christianity lasts that long) people will be using this shit against the newest "super power" in the world. But tell me this, does the bible say anything about Austin? I want to make sure I miss out on any nuclear attacks some man 3,000 years ago seemed to know about (you know all the nuclear technology they had back then and all...) Actually churches don't hardly ever talk about the endtimes and when they do it is so general it will put you to sleep. I've been going to church all my life and I've only heard one sermon about the end-times...... To talk about Babylon yeah rite.... that is way to specific..... A pastor would not want to keep anyone intrested would they? Most pastor today are week and are afraid to talk about anything contraversial as a result of lose of prophit... Now I am not saying all but alot.... finding a good church today is hard but finding God is so much easier. Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of His coming?... II Peter 3:3-4
bandit28, you do realize at least Kerry went to war, while Bush was back home avoiding it like the plague. If your basing your voting on that, at least vote for someone who is really a veteran, unlike Bush. Bush is a veteran of a rich family and crybabies. The worst he went through was taking a few laps around the track. And that last post didnt prove or say anything. That was a waste JesusDied
I already answered that one, here is the link. http://hipforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=387239&postcount=38 Its funny how you think you know me. I know chuches pretty well. I am glad your church doesn't preach hellfire, but there are plenty out there that do. I didn't come across it on my own, myself.
Don't just take one or two descriptions you have to take ALL of them and Rome and no other nation fits it except AMERICA. Fit the nation that fits them all!
back at you, bud... make every single one of these apply to America... Revelations 18 12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble, 13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men. 14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all. See all those things listed above? Ivory, Frankensense, Precious Stones, Cinnamon, chariots? America doesn't produce those things... Rome did though, and every single last thing in the book of Revelations correlates to it. Prove me wrong.
I am not basing my voting decision on war records. Kerry is the one that decided to base his whole campain on his war record. He made his war record an issue. Once it became an issue, the swift boat vets decided it was time for Kerry to be shown as the liar he is. Seriously, out of the two serious contendors for the presidency, Bush is going to win. Do I think that every decision Bush has made has been a good one? No. If you look down our long list of presidents, you will see that every single president made mistakes. Some worse than others. Want to know why they made mistakes? Because they are human. Just like you and I. We will never have a perfect president, a perfect America, or a perfect world. There will always be someone somewhere doing something for themselves. When I look at Kerry and Bush, I see two totaly different people. Kerry lacks the ability to make a decision and stick with it. I am sure you are aware of the term flip flop used to describe him. Anyways, let's get back on topic here. The swift boat vets asked Kerry to release his war records. Kerry refuses to do this. Anyone know why? Because he is a liar. The only reason Bushs' past has been brought up is because the Kerry campain is grabing for anything they think will help them out of the hole they are in. And now, Kerrys' attempts and lies have affected another person. Yup, you got it, good ole Dan. Anyways. I will be voting for Bush. Unless Kerry makes a stance for stoping American companies from producing goods outside of our country, then I would strongly consider voting for him.
Fun fact about kerry too, He wrote all of his medal packages himself, (normally a senior or same ranking officer writes the packages, so there is no bias or discrepensies) accomidations in war. One of his purple hearts was "earned" is his own error. (he acctually injured himself.) And he being an officer in the navy he was able to do this somehow.
Bandit, I sure hope you do realize that you have played into everything the Bush campaign has hoped for in fools like you. Also, you're judging Kerry on something Bush commonly does. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/3/7/213753/1954 if you'd like more links, I'd be happy to provide them. Just in case you'd call it "biased". Even still, it's all true. Biased or not.
Well Revelation 17:9 does say seven heads are seven hills, and Rome is known as, the "city of seven hills". And the Catholic church predicts an evil pope who will arise, in which, the holy roman empire has always been headed by both a political and religious leader. During the end times, the world will be ruled by both the antichrist and the false prophet. The holy roman empire has always been a union of church and state. I read this earlier..... (on Daniel's interpretation of KingNebuchadnezzar's dream) “...they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.” This passage has been explicitly fulfilled. Each time the Holy Roman Empire has been established, it has succeeded for only a short time. Each time, after reaching world domination, the pope and the emperor began to quarrel over which one between them should be the final authority. The popes have always held that “spiritual” should rule over “temporal.” On the other hand, the emperors have insisted that they should have the last word. Because of the quarreling, their alliances eventually disintegrated. It has certainly been as the scriptures said: the iron will not cleave to the clay! (Irvin Baxter, End Time Magazine) http://www.endtime.com/past_article.asp?ID=77 - This is a great article from the writer of End Time Magazine But America does possess the same spirit as Babylon did. The immorality, the pride, etc. I agree, most pastors are weak because they are not being led by the spirit. I am greatful that not only is my place of worship a revival church, but also an endtimes church that prepares it's congregation for the second coming of Christ instead of focusing on the shiny, happy things that most churches do.
