SOAD is not nu-metal. Their first two cds were pretty heavy.

 

Everything soad has done falls under alternative nu-metal. lol.

 

I'd say, if anything, their earlier albums were the most nu-metal stuff they've done.
Not saying they have escaped the label yet, but it's far more evident on the early stuff.
