She lives in N. Minnesota. It's pretty frigid there as well. I lived there for nearly 20 years. I have zero desire to talk about the weather, except on here of course.

Yes, she lives in Norther Minnesota. With that said, it's not like she ever has to go outside. That's actually the best part of it all. Rarely does she experience the weather, as she sits in her house year round.

its what we do. we talk about what's going on around us. or maybe it's an old habit for when it actually applied to our lives when we were all pioneers and had no electricity

i guess if you're talking to a complete stranger, no matter how far culturally removed they are, the one thing you can be sure to have in common is the present experience of the weather, so i guess its a conversational leveller. i have no problem with it really, it doesn't interest me all that much, but if i don't know someone at all, i might find it difficult to strike up a conversation about something i did care about straight off, so an all-purpose talking point could be useful.

the problem is it has nowhere to go as a conversation. it just tails off after a few seconds. there needs to be a better one.

I downrated you too. Twice. There's no need to talk to people if you don't want to. I smile, nod, say hello, how are you? and carry on.

You seem to take those down/up votes a little too seriously. Maybe I should go back and neg you lol, you'd be my first too.

I always get really amused when people talk about the weather. It's such an obvious attempt at small talk.

PR, you need to embrace awkward silences.

If we are talking about the weather I would like to know why all the chemtrail keep showing up in the sky which is obvously bringing drought and ruining the crops. Something should be done about this. That is why we have been having so many agricultural problems.

Most people don't have the brains to ask those kind of important questions.

What's important to the majority of HF'ers? Licking shitty rims and ass-to-mouth?

Can't they find both important? I thought that question about the chemtrails has been asked and discussed several times at these forums already.. Perhaps others don't find that conclusion as obvious or they're tired of this kind of question asking? I'm not sure but I'm sure more people care about that stuff. Which doesn't mean they would react seriously every time someone might bring it up in for instance a topic like this. Just stating the obvious again, I know :p
