You add milk to the teabag b4 you add the hot water? hummm.... We don't do that in the US usually. Brew the tea, then add the milk, no? Adding the milk first seems to make a difference as the brew seems weaker, probably cause the tea leaves are coated with milk before the water hits it. Remember tea has loads of caffeine, that's why you get a buzz. Herbal teas usually don't have any. You can also get decaf tea, but it's harder to find in Australia as I know from personal experience. Here in the states we have ICED TEA, which we brew fresh from teabags or use a powder (nestea is by far the best, fuck lipton). We also buy lots of bottled iced teas like Snapple which are very sweet (too sweet for me), but we never used to carbonate tea, until lipton started doin' that shit in Europe. Horrors! Oh a reminder for tourists. In America if you ask for Iced Tea in any restaurant (they all serve it), you can get FREE REFILLS in a very large glass usually. Also if you get a tea bag for hot tea you can usually get more water too for a second cup of weak tea.
I've recently discovered the joys of tea drinking (bought my first tea kettle just yesterday), and I found a cool site to explore different varieties at inexpensive prices: http://www.tealand.com/
my friend just got some amazing teas today! one is almond cookie and omg it's heavenly! it has real almonds in it!
Oh, I've got to make some of that soon. Thanks for the idea, I'll even keep your name. One of the best tea surprises I've had lately was when I ordered some Puer Erh Toucha out of curiosity. The "toucha" is a compressed, aged pellet of tea which elimates trying to get the measurements right, it's perfect for the medium sized Japanese teapot I use. The tea is a wonderful combination of flavors, to my taste it's a bit like kukicha mixed with Orange Pekoe with just a tiny touch of woodsiness/smokiness added. Good stuff, it doesn't get bitter if you let it steep too long (which happens when I'm the only one drinking tea and I make a whole pot).
guys visit this website for some teas. it's very nice teas and very very cheap shipping. they have so many kinds! http://www.specialteas.com/
I drink tea all of the time hot or iced I love it. To make Ice tea we use Tetley you take a large pan put 8 to 12 regular size or 4 to 5 family size tea bags in (depends on how strong you want it) and add about 8 cups of cold water put it on the stove on medium/high and bring to a rolling boil. Turn stove off let steep for 10 to 15 minutes depends on the amount of time you have pour tea in a 1 gallon pitcher add sugar to taste and fill piture the rest of the way with cold water. Discard tea bags. You cam and mint leaves to the boil if you like amint taste. You can also use lemon wedges in it when you are done and the tea is chilled. Pour in a large glass over ice enjoy. For hot tea I either boil water on the stove in a pot or sauce pan or pot a mug in the micro wave to heat water to a boil then put the tea bag to steep for 3 minutes. I preffer bigalow brand teas or Twiggy brand( both have web sites Twiggiy is under Gevallia). I love earl gray, irish and english breakfast teas. Earl gray kinda smells like fruit loops when it steeps. Has anyone tried Bubble Teas I haven't yet but I would like to the care big in the tea /coffee houses here.
