I am right handed but I hold my pencil differently than most people. In 3rd grade my teacher decided I needed to hold it the "right" way. I was placed in the corner when she caught me holding my pencil "wrong." She taped the pencil in my hand in the "correct" position. I was in 3rd grade reading and writing at a 10th grade level,by the way. I can still remember how ashamed and angry the whole thing made me. After a few weeks I told my mom and she raised hell with the school and got me moved to another class. I hadn't thought about it in years but I'm all pissed off and sad now just thinking about it. I had a hard enough time fitting in,I didn't need some psycho teacher pointing out more of my "weirdness" to the other kids, you know?
