What's up everybody, brand new to the place and this seemed like a good place to start.

My name is mike, I'm 24. Started workin on the back of my head about a year ago. Unfortunately used wax on my first dread. Waited a while to do anymore. And actually during that wait found this site. Saw all these different methods and tried all of em. A year later the back of my heads a mess, and have decided to leave the rest of my head alone and let do the thangathang on it's own.

I have no computer at the moment, just an iPhone with a few not so great pictures.

Here's a one before just for the length, that i'm losing at a tremendous rate.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

For those that have grown their locks using the "neglect" method, generally where does the locking start. Like the bottom or closer to the root?

Mine Started At The Tips, By Forming "Crazy Loopies"...:).

Then Worked Their Way Back Towards My Scalp.

    Cheers Glen.

Word. All my undreaded hair in the front seems to whore itself to the dreads in the back while I'm sleeping. A fee days ago tryin to seperate the two I noticed the tips feelin a bit.....not usual.

Yea the sections were random as fuck. First one we did, I didn't know how much hair to use. So I stumbled my ass to the bathroom and with the divine inspiration of malt liquor, I grabbed enough for a fatty. Then went smaller, then bigger and then blrtbbkkfde. I say fuck it, at the end of the day it's still just some hair.

I quite like the randomness, I wouldn't want uniformly sectioned dreads. Mine range from about 1-6 cm thick, and are quite random in placement. Provided they don't reef on your scalp somethin fierce, the randomness is sweet.

HEy dreadheads names E. Ive had my locs for 3-8 months they took me for freakin ever to do my self. Used to live in Kansas where there 1 dreadhead to every 100 miles lol moved up here to Portland Oregon where there 1 on every block lol. I like my neat clean dreads, i keep them short 4-5 inchs, they vary from micros- medium width locs. Ive used wax, tightenin gel, dreadheadhq latched crochet hook, and my new favorite tool the micro crochet hook i made out of paperclip lol the mini crochet hook is only thing i use now. They dont lie when they say the first year is ridiculous if u do them ur self.
oh i should also add another reason it took me for ever to do my dreads...i some how did 169 locs so ya....
