It's amazing that you can think of the U.S. as comparable to Nazi Germany but mention nothing of the abysmal state of human rights in any three dozen countries in the world at this moment, not least of which are any of the former Soviet states (and in Russia they're rolling back what democratic reforms they've made), Cuba, Mexico, any South American country (how about Brazil, where they just shot a rainforest-saving NUN in the face three times), Rwanda, Nigeria, Sudan, blah blah etc. etc.

Yeah, when I think of horrible human rights situations I think immediately of the U.S. above all of those... despite the fact that people from all of those countries are dying to get to live in the U.S. for some strange reason.
