You can always try to interpret a fact if you absolutely want to.

You can deny a fact.

Does that make sense?

Here's an example:

The majority of hard drug users started out using Cannabis.------FACT

You can present this fact to mean different things:

A). Studies show that the majority of hard drug users try Cannabis first. Cannabis users are more likely to use hard drugs than those who haven't tried Cannabis, so if we eliminate Cannabis use we will drastically lower the use of hard drugs.

B). Studies show that the majority of hard drug users try Cannabis first. Because Cannabis is illegal, it forces it's users to buy from drug dealers. Those drug dealers are constantly persuading their customers to buy their other products. So if we legalize Cannabis, it's users will not be introduced to harder drugs. Therefore the use of hard drugs will be lowered drastically.

C). Studies show that the majority of hard drug users try Cannabis first. This proves that Cannabis is the most readily available substance to underage Americans. People who use hard drugs are going to use them regardless of what they can get their hands on first. If we legalize and regulate Cannabis, then Cannabis use will decline but hard drug use will remain the same.

Opposing sides often use the same facts to back completely different arguments. Just interpreted in a manner which suits their desired outcome. So just because a fact is a fact, doesn't mean it can't be twisted into opinion.

 

I only believe in statistics that I have personally falsified.

 

Does half of what mankind does make sense?

A large amount of man kinds actions don't really make sense to me, but I'm sure it makes perfect sense to the sheeple that latch on to whatver is dangled in front of their face.

 

Now we're talking. It can only make sense to YOU.

If the same thing made sense to me too that would be a mere coincidence.

At least in my humble opinion.

 

If you convinced everyone in the world to maintain that a man named Ernesto Piggwiggles was the first man on the moon, that too would be a fact.
