The thing I loved most about Andy Kaufman is that he wouldn't be accepted as/let people label him a comedian and he'd lash at them every time they did and go into detail. And he was big into eastern spirituality/religion/philosophy and transcendental meditation.
yeah, i learned lots about andy when i wrote a 10 page research report on him in 10th grade... hes interesting as fuck!
lmao... last time I did a 10 page research paper, I was in seventh grade. It focused on Jimmy Buffett's childhood, living on the gulf coast in Mississippi/Alabama (he never went west of New Orleans or East of Pensacola before he was in the Navy)... up until he got caught trafficking grass on his seaplanes and had a daughter, both in 1979. The Jamaican government shot another one of his seaplanes down again in 1996, for allegedly smuggling, when he decided to drop by Negril for a jerk chicken lunch with Bono. And then he capsized and sank another one in Nantucket Harbor in 1994 while he was fishing for Striped Bass. He said that he probably wouldn't be alive today without his Navy diving/escape training. I just find it ridiculous that he makes $100 million a year... though his cousin is Warren Buffett, the second richest man in the world.
uh... no they havent. thats considered stealing. look for the video of joe rogan ripping carlos mencia a new one for stealing ppls jokes
He's always been a multitasker... (heh.. don't drink and drive) He wrecked the first car he ever bought new (one of those 70s mercedes 300DL turbodiesel convertibles) when he was working as an editor for Rolling Stone.
I've always felt Carlos Mencia had some good points. But he's annoying as shit as far as delivery of the meterial goes. I do like that he does try to stay true to his roots in that he does try to stay true to the whole latino state-of-mind/humor thing... but sometimes his delivery is just ridiculous.
dane cook is slightly higher than carrot top and slightly lower than gallager in pantheon of comedy. Some comedians are able to use wit and insight in order to shed light on social issues and generate discussion. It's an art form when it's done this way. People like Lenny Bruce, george carlin, Richard Pryor, Bill Hicks, sara(h?) silverman, Mark Twain, and even gilbert godfrey (anyone who has every watched 'the aristocrats' knows why) are able to add something to society, are able to lift it up, and mindfuck it to a higher plane of existence. Some people, like Mitch Hedberg, steven wright, robin williams, and bill cosby are there to entertain. And most of the time they are able to do so very effectively. and then there's dane cook. He reminds me of a hyperactive 5th grader who always has to be the center of attention. he isn't very innovative, and certainly not intelligent. He is proof that the internet isn't always right.
