I once saw an HBO thing that was a bunch of clips of British comedians, and it was literally all just them making fun of Americans.

Oh, I wasn't defending Americans. Just seems a bit odd how homogenous an entire country of comedians could be. Was it a biased show or what? The only other British stand-up I've seen is Rusell Brand, and he didn't go there at all, but it was an American special, so I don't know. It can't all be drag, stupid American's, and Monty Python can it?

Well I don't. It was just odd to see a bunch of British comedians in a row talk about the same thing - and nothing else. By no means am I saying I was offended by it.

i agree with the point... but you dont affect change with hate. in fact, messed up superpowers and the like are forged out of things like hate, greed and fear

Having been through both lands I can say that the Brits understand what civility and civilization mean, and the Americans still know what it means to be truely uncivilized. To the degree that each equates with freedom, including the ability to sink to true new lows I believe the Americans have the Brits beat. To the ability to acheive truely new highs of sensibility I believe the Brits have that sense. I do not mean either thing as a put down. This is a feeling thing. Not really a matter for words but something which is open ended and therefore not amenable to the logic of set theory or entropy.

English actors do a pretty good job of imitating american accents,I think. I didn't know Hugh Laurie was from there. And Cruise's ex from Australia does a good job. I don't care for --what the hell you call it-high english? I love to hear cockney and that little dude that was in Mike Leigh's movie-Naked. But I think he was Scottish? The one that was storming back and forth looking for his girlfriend.

I can usually tell what state someone is from here. There are subtle differances,as I'm sure you guys can with your regional differances.

i don't drink tea or coffee. both are awful disgusting.

i'd say the biggest difference is the language. i never understand what the hell the brits are saying, goes for both pronunciation and vocabulary.

Same here. Some of the words Americans use confuse the hell out of me, others just make no sense.

I can usually understand what a brit is saying when i hear them, but a lot of the time i've noticed it's just garbled crap when they try to type it out. I have a very hard time reading what you guys type a;lsdkfjkd. Maybe that's just the teenagers but my god. Hahaha.
And with the humor, I tend to come off as an asshole until you get to know me, so I've always been able to play along.
I guess it depends on the person, really.

as for Americans not understanding people from Britain it all depends where the person is from. Drive a couple of hours in a different direction and accents and slang change so much!!

see this video for an example

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ag6cOBDMIk4&feature=channel_video_title"]How to pull a Bristolian woman - YouTube

the guy in the beginning is a middle class (posh) south east accent and the girl and guy who comes in are from Bristol. people also speak like the posh guy in Oxford i checked the distance from Oxford and Bristol and it's apparently 1 hour 30 mins....

I quote a woman that was a hippie in the 1960s.

"When I embraced Free Love all it ment was I was expected to open my
legs for any man that asked. "

    So...

If logic and reason does not work.
And love only gets you fucked.

How do you get things to change?

Because the anglosphere only wants to fuck the entire planet in the ass
and I am certain most of us do not like being sodomized.

The only tool I am so many others are being left with is hate.

Not sure who coined the phrase, but I think it holds true, "England and America - two English speaking nations separated by language."

When I was living in England it took me awhile to get used to the differences and pick up a lot of the lingo. And some people had to ask me to repeat myself a bit as well. It was a cool learning experience though.
