Yeah, I'm not really into that kind of music or anything, but Dimebag Darrell Abbott did a lot for that kind of music and with Pantera and whatnot. I know some cousin of his that plays guitar in a band a band fronted by my mom's friend's cousin a few miles from here. lot of people liked him and I've seen full page in memory ads that Dean has taken out and musicians friend has... But, I still think nobody has really done more in for music in such a short time as Brother Duane Allman . He was really only known for about 24 months and he kind of revolutionized country-blues, jam bands, southern bands, slide guitar techniques. My favorite players still remain Duane, Dickey, Warren, and Derek, at the moment.
back again with the best guitarist threads...three pages of guys, most of which arent fit to tune a guitar for the great Les Paul. Look into him, he played anything that could be played on guitar, recorded it, and was finished by 1964. Only Hendrix, Segovia, and Fripp come anywhere close to the man whose name graces the guitar of so many. Beyond that, any top ten has to start including mere mortals.
I guess there's not many other Vai fans around here. Hendrix Steve Vai Beck SRV ... Are my current favorites, as of this very moment in time. Oh yeah, and that guy from the Gipsy Kings.
little old dude really can play, despite having arthritic claws for hands he still plays....... les paul is badass.... he still plays clubs and he's in his late 90's
Howe, Hendrix, Keith Richards, Robert Johnson, David Gilmour and Honourable mention to Jimmy Page. Hendrix should be on everyones list.
I think he just did his first album in a while, recently. He had a bunch of famous guests that he jammed with on the album. He's like the grandfather of everyone who plays guitar or records.
hes definitly quite good, but I wouldnt put him in a top 10 or anything I cant think of anyone else at the moment, so Ill agree with that
im sorry, i thought this was what I thought not what others think... dont mean to sound rude but again.. everyone doesnt think the same thing ya know... so yes, I WOULD put Tom on MY top ten...
in the late 70's when circus mag tried to give page the award for best quitarist for the third time he declined, saying that Roy Clark (an old country dude) had him beat easy.
Its fine favor him over other guitarists because of his style, but as far as skill level goes, there are many other well-known guitarists who are alot better than he is
please kid, dont try to tell me what to like... I think hes one of the best and that is my opinion.. i dont know whats so hard for you to understand about that... dont bother posting about it again cause again people can and do think different things ya know...
hahahah you are so sad lil buddy... this is why the music forum sucks cause its people like you who think they know all when you really dont... I dont understand why you have such a problem with what I think...maybe you should worry about yourself from now on..
