I bought Acid Mothers Temple's Electric Heavyland... damn, its cool! I also downloaded the two Kula Shaker albums.. wow, they were awesome. Thanks a lot for the suggestions.
Personally, I would think of The Mars Volta as somewhat psychedelia, only because alot of thier stuff has that sound to it. Especially their latest album.
Yes, indeed it is. Deloused in the Comatorium was equally good, but yet in a totally different way. Frances the mute is probalby my favorite though.
i downloaded two mars volta albums, but i don't really like them. Dunno why, i guess i just don't like the singer's voice.
Acid Mothers Temple is a fantastic group, I have 3 albums of theirs and none have disappointed whatsoever; indeed, I look forward to acquiring more! If you like AMT I would heartily recommend Escapade; they released a split CD with AMT last year ("A Thousand Shades of Grey"), and IMHO the two bands are pretty complementary. I have five of Escapade's albums-- IIRC they have a total of 6-7-- and they're all very psychedelic in an avant/space//krautrock kinda way... And they're 100% improvised with no overdubs! Also continuing in the AMT vein... Makoto Kawabata and Cotton Casino teamed up with Daevid Allen and company to release the Gong/AMT crossover ACID MOTHERHOOD-- look out, this one's dynamite!
I'm not a fan of the Mars Volta too, but i've just heard their first album. Their not bad neither but ...i've got a problem with the singer voice... It's like Muse a little bit... I hear the singer of Mars Volta singin and i imagine a scene of a crime...it damage my hear. But sooner or later i will hear their second album...the curiosity don't kill...i hope
