There was nothing that great about it... Wolfenstein 3-D was better, IMO. But, hey... the physics engine and just the craziness that went on during combat were enough to entertain me for hours upon hours. I liked trying to stick grunts and elites with plasma grenades from really far away; or, trying to launch a plasma grenade into a stick by timing the moment I threw the grenade so that it would be propelled by the explosion of the grenade I threw previously. Good times.
I like kens labyrinth, (uber olde now freeware fps\maze game) but now on modern grpahics cards the way the engine renders 3d just messes with at least my brain, I'll get a really bad headache from playing it, I had no problems with with the onboard graphics on my old pentium (pentium 1 80586) but on my nvidia monstrosity it just messes me up.... only game where a monster ever startled\scared me
Sounds like an awesome game. I manage to get startled when I'm not really paying attention to the gameplay.
tank wars is a great non fps game, it requires thought and has thousands of options, it's shit to find though old dos game I think the website the underdogs has it hundreds of different games playable just by tweaking the options a little bit
