A few more of mine... I took a trophy for "Coolest Car". There were 10 "Coolest Cars" out of 280 cars entered. Not Bad.
A few more entrants at the show... It was a fun day. This year I didn't show at all, the weather and my wallet seemed to be against me. I didn't even go to look.
.....Those could all be sweet cars, but they're all a bit overdone, to the point of looking like hotwheels. IMO, anyways. Except yours. Yours is clean looking.
Thanks guys... I really like this HHR... @ RH Yeah, I love all the old style gassers, much better than the current ones. Maybe not as fast as a modern one but there's just something scary about the older ones... More on the edge of insanity. :2thumbsup:

I'm not getting it.... classic stylings and time period aside, basically it's a drag car with a short wheelbase, high center of gravity, and motor moved rearward? It seems like the point is wheelstanding.... Wouldn't it make more sense to make it so it can ALMOST wheelstand, as far as winning races goes? Theorhetically, you should be putting the most power on the wheels somewhere between almost lifting, and lifting like an inch.... I'm a car idiot and all.... and they LOOK neat. But I don't get the balance thing.
They were supposed to be balanced to the point where they almost lifted the front wheels for maximum traction. Sometimes they tipped that balance point due to traction or tuning and they did lift the wheels. If this lift was subtle and the car was staged straight they would travel the whole 1/4 mile on just the rear wheels... Awesome to watch and it must have been amazing to drive.
OH YEAH! I lowered mine some too. Thanks guys--I appreciate it. Have you-all seen mine? Hip Gallery. Thats a 65'or '66 funny car and the yeller one is '67 ,like mine. That '67 is SHARP! AS you can see, mine is painted in the 60s style. Might paint it solid like the one above(when I get it back) or I might just re-paint it as it came out of the factory.
Thanks brother. I changed out those exhaust pipes as soon as I got it. I got some big-ass pipes and had them cut at an angle and chromed. A friend of mine said--"man,you'll be blowing cats out of there when you start it". Those shown are the dumb looking ones that were on it when I got it. Can you guys believe I only paid 500 bucks for it in '92? Stole that sucker!! 2,545 '67s made. That pic was taken before I lowered it.
