I don't have the DVD hooked up to the new tv yet. I've been thinking about the different things I'd enjoy watching...

That Equalizer show would be neat.

I'd like to watch the Downtown Abbey series and own the entire series of Designing Women, particularly the first years when Suzanne was still on. (forget her real name right now.)

Edit: Delta Burke is her name. Beautiful woman that had trouble staying size 0. imagine, the tv people got away with doing away with her (character) basically b/c she gained some weight...and she remained as beautiful as ever. :)

I forget if I mentioned that just last Tuesday I spent $320 for 4 good new tires on the Crown Vic.

Tomorrow morning I'm going to leave her to get wheel bearings replaced. It suddenly started squeaking or squealing. I took it to one very reputable mechanic shop, a local, a few weeks ago on the days off and he was very apathetic about it saying it was bushings, and would be between $300 and $500! :yikes: But he basically said it wasn't anything to get all excited about. (making me feel sort of like a stupid hysterical woman)

I got a 2nd opinion last week, before purchasing the new tires at another reputable shop, more uptown. He was nice, and told me I 1st need tires more than I needed the squeaking fixed (and showed me on the tires outside why :p ) but he said he thought it was ball bearings and it wasn't something to overlook or be apathetic about.

I know I don't like this dang sometimes awful squeaking and it didn't make common sense to me that "since its bushings its not serious and you don't have to worry about it now."

The man I will take my car to tomorrow estimated $250. I expect $350. The other jackass won't get my money anymore.

bearing dont sqeak...they howl or growl like as if you had just one grippy snow tire on..faster you go the more it howls...and turning left or right sharp makes it worse or it goes away

bushings squeak....but just based on your model id say its probably upper balljoint...they sqeak bad on those cars during turns and bumps if theyre wore

you shouldnt discount the first guy like that...they are just guessing based on experience and like doctors they all have different experience...you cant really know the real problem until they start taking things apart

The real, honest reason I've sort of had enough of this local guy is because I know my tires didn't get that bad in one month...no I didn't go there asking about tires, but wanting an appt for the squeaking.

This guy is someone I've known since childhood and claims to also be my friend. This is the last in sort of a line of straws where I felt he should have Told Me about something that as a car man and mechanic, he would have noticed - or should have....as in this last thing in a line of things, he could have said Lynn, you need to get those tires taken care of.

This other dude didn't know me really, even though I have taken a car there before. The fact that he said - and showed me - how much I needed those tires, regardless of the fact that I wouldn't be getting them there, makes me respect him more than this local childhood friend that runs his successful shop.

About the squeaking...I think nobody will really know until they get up in there. yay

The squeaking or other kind of noise can happen when I'm going straight down the road; but especially it's bad, for instance when I turn in the driveway....it'll be bad when driving on pavement as well as over bumps or whatever.

What kind of price do you think it'll take to fix this?

^I'm not really sure I want to know the answer.

I pretty much missed it. Did see the full moon at 4am but was not out at 7. Red was supposed to happen right at sunrise.

asking how much a mystery job will cost is kind of like a customer walking up to your cash and asking how much their bill will be without telling you what they plan on ordering.

asking mechanics for prices before they fix things is never a good idea because they will quote much higher to cover themselves in case problems happen...and if no problems happen then youre paying more anyway because youve already accepted their high quote...its better to just trust them and let them do their job....by the way if they quoted too little and ran into problems they will take shortcuts and compromise and probably not do as good as job because they know they wont get paid for it anyway....so what is better?

also about the tires thing...cracks are not dangerous...maybe the first guy knows you and knows you dont want to spend money needlessly...and the second guy is more experienced at making small unimportant things seem dangerous..tire salemen are worst than used car dealer imo

The arbor/pergola/thingy is built... No glass panels yet and the upper siding isn't done. Gotta do the siding before the glass anyways. But the structure is built and for the most part painted and stained the way it's going to be. Had to do most of that before assembly.

Gonna be great, amazing improvement for that area.
