got REAL info to back that up or are you just hating?

MY inside info says lots of clean and sober happening in the family. Onstage and off.

I used to work for a manager....not the dead but another big band....it was common knowledge why they still toured. I'm guesing the dead are the same, hell, what'd Jerry die of again?Fresh air?

i think they'll tour again, and the reason, well...they are the dead, they will tour,
i think it's as simple as that.

so based on 1995 and earlier, you are saying that the band is smacked out?
THey are both edead: Brent and Jerry. Hell, Brent spiked onstage.
But NOW, lots of clean amd sober. Even Bobby.
and this is from a band-mate.

"Even" bobby? Did he have more troubles than the others these past few years?

less trouble with stuff over all, but as you get old, the little stuff builds up. He needed a change. He made it happen.
He's much happier (and playing hot) these days.
And I'm not a huge Bobby fan singing praises, here.
I respect what he does and how he treats his fellow musicians most of the time.
His bandmates in the Dog are happier, too.

As long as they are still alive and physically able to lift and play their instruments, The Dead will play.

I just don't know why she's trying so hard to give a straight edge reputation to a band that birthed right out of the Haight. I could find many worthy causes out there....but trying to claim that a band that tolerates a lot scene is a sober pressed shirt type is well.....
fruitless and might make the kids on shakedown more paranoid than usual.

get over it there sober now. they don't care what other people do, thats what the Haight scene was about, not drugs. they did lots, but in these last years they have had to slow down....i wouldn't doubt that once in a while one of them is smoking some grass, but thats not really anything anyway.....

but i got an official news letter from the DEAD company, and it said somthing to the effects of "the dead is an ever changing ever growing entity, the members happen to be in other areas, and are not forcing a tour, rather working and growing to one day, get back together with their new found knowledge and play again....because isn't that what the Grateful Dead is all about?" and thats exactly how i feel, they are doing some things on the side, exlporing....and soon (i'm preying for another NEW YEARS bash like in 03-04.....damn was that good shit!!) they will be back on stage, doing what they do best, jamming with eachother.....
