i have never been paid minimum wage. even when i was 16 my first job at a burger joint paid .25 or .50 over...
Ever dollar you own technically you are one more dollar in debt. Since the government prints money at interest. Its a system that enslaves everyone but the super rich.
1 chicken egg costs about 30 or 40 billion zimbabwe dollars... our dollar today is worth 4 cents compared to the dollar in 1913
I'm curious as to what Pressed Rat would say about the current devaluation of the dollar. He always had some interesting thoughts about it.
that's not true as far as i know.. if you explain further i'd be glad to listen as i am still learning as well.. otherwise i figure neither one of you know what the hell u r talking about
This explains everything i could + more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dmPchuXIXQ"]YouTube - Zeitgeist - The Movie: Federal Reserve (Part 1 of 5)
right now interest rates are at zero percent to "stimulate the economy".. the federal reserve system is corrupt and destined for failure.. that doesn't mean money is a bad thing and if you have money you can handle it in such a way as to protect your assets.. who knows maybe when timewave zero hits we won't use money anymore...
But if you don't control the value of the dollar what you own could technically be worth nothing. Only sentimental value.
pretty much.. see original post: the only reason our money has value is that people don't know it's worthless..
This is a great book on the subject. Read up about the Rockefeller family too. http://www.amazon.com/Creature-Jekyll-Island-Federal-Reserve/dp/0912986395"]Amazon.com: The Creature from Jekyll Island: A Second Look at the Federal Reserve (9780912986395): G. Edward Griffin: Books
You are going around in circles. What gives a non-backed currency value? Belief in its value. What gives a gold-backed currency value? Belief in the value of gold. Neither is intrinsically especially valuable.
most of the shit we posses including money is worthless. jewelry, electronics, etc. it all means nothing as far as survival.
Depends on who you ask. Ask a pilot how long he can survive without the use of computers. Though I understand your point.
that's what i mean when i say "the only reason our money has value is that people don't know it's worthless" i just word it slightly differently because i'm coming from the perspective of the fact that most people don't know our currency is a fiat money, and what that means. their is no belief in the value of gold. gold is valuable. gold is real money it's a hedge against inflation and economic disruption. the significance of 1971 is the year that the usd was taken away from the gold standard. inflation has happened much more quickly since then. if gold isn't valuable.. try to find some enlightened soul that will sell you an ounce for $1.. every christmas somebody puts a gold krugerrand in one of those salvation army buckets, but i bet they got a stack of them back at the house 10 times over. mk this is hippy talk.. go get a job. we all know in a certain light it is worthless, but in another light it is very important. a mountain goat can't do differential equations, but they sure know how to survive...
excuse me? i didn't insult you! so you are arguing that in order to enjoy a good quality of life or something that the use currency is a necessary element?
