You know William Barr is on a fishing expedition to attain that power over Muslims. The Trump administration is all about hate of Muslims and foreigners.

I think everyone who favors the economy over human life needs to pick 2 people in their family to die. It's sad how his cult has embraced this. Dying for some capitalist ideal to own the left. Trump does not see human life that way you can't expect it from someone like him. It's not an abstract number. 2-3% death rate is low in the context of society collapsing or the human race dying. But it's a large number in the world population.

His properties are loosing money and the 1% are restless. How do you think they are isolating? In some cases underground bunkers that grow their crops and create their own power. Those are the people Trump wants to please.

The virus has forced Trump to stay at the White House all the time, forcing him to comply with his campaign promise that he has broken since he took office.

It's so frustrating to him that he's using press briefings as campaign rallies and having delusional visions of churches packed with people on Easter like the arenas for his rallies.

New Evidence Indicates Intelligence Not Contagious

New Evidence Indicates Intelligence Not Contagious

    excerpt:

"WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—New evidence uncovered over the past several weeks indicates that intelligence is not contagious, a study by the Centers for Disease Control reports.

In a controlled experiment documented by the study, a seventy-nine-year-old man with intelligence was placed in close proximity to a seventy-three-year-old man without it for a period of several weeks to see if even a trace of his knowledge and expertise could be transmitted.

After weeks of near-constant exposure, however, the seventy-three-year-old man appeared “a hundred per cent asymptomatic” of intelligence, the researchers found."

I just read an article which says the Coronavirus Bill has a hidden provision which will turn out to be a Bonanza for the real estate investors.

Tyrsonswood post #21393 - That's PERFECT. The recordings prove what he tries to deny later. He says stupid things in front of cameras and then ………………… the Trump lemmings try to tell others he never said them. Or we're taking it out of context. We understand English. He speaks in simple, broken sentences and phrases. Then Trump himself tries to also deny ever meeting someone or knowing them when he's in pictures shaking hands with them, his arm around their shoulder, or having conversations with them. It's a tough sell when there's proof on tape.

Trump is trying to weasel out of his remarks that belittled the virus. He's saying that he didn't explicitly say the virus was a hoax but rather that remarks by Democrats and the media coverage of it were a hoax ("this is their new hoax").

Trump made various remarks belittling the virus before it became a major problem in the U.S. He raved that the U.S. had nearly no cases. He delayed actions such as declaring a national emergency.

At a rally in South Carolina, Trump took credit for his handling of the coronavirus by stating that only 15 coronavirus cases had been recorded in the U.S. as of Feb. 28.

It will be an uphill battle for him to try to reverse his remarks.

He's probably better off blaming state and local governments and Obama for his delayed reaction and taking credit for himself later if the virus doesn't kill as many people as it would have for worst-case scenarios.

He can also rave about the $1200 federal government gifts to everyone.

unfocusedanakin post # 21404 - How many here know that a number of REALLY rich people bought land in New Zealand and have extremely well-hidden bunkers underground there?? I believe it was 60 Minutes that did a show about the fact. They were standing 3 feet away from an entrance to a huge underground megaplex owned by an unnamed billionaire. It looked like any other spot on the landscape. There were so many ultra-rich people buying land in New Zealand for just the same purpose, that New Zealand stopped outsiders from buying more land.

These underground bunkers are stocked already with enough food, water, medicines, comfortable amenities, massage rooms, wines, AC, filtered air, etc. for a LONG stay. One even has a full-time paid doctor to come in with the owners so they can be treated if someone gets ill. Living quarters for a number of people in the owner's family and/or close friends. And New Zealand isn't the only place with such underground bunkers.

If that doesn't prove the fear the ultra-rich have in case of all-out war, pandemic, or revolutions - I don't know what can. All paid for by big tax breaks, reducing what they kick in for workers' health insurance, and the talents and sweat of their workers.

He can brag that "he" did that, but in reality it's our own tax money coming to us. We - or our kids - will have to ante-up down the road. It's times like this that really focus how great it was to give HUGE tax breaks to the 1%, right??? Some folks got a one-time $1000 "bonus" when the tax bill was signed, and some folks that are soooo much more deserving than the 99% got millions and hundreds of millions in tax savings.

And now some Repubs in Congress are bitching that working people are getting too much money in those bare necessities checks. Bravo.

Trump’s Friday night effort to weaponize coronavirus against his enemies has already aged poorly
The president decried the coronavirus-related “hoax” just hours before news of the first US death broke.

Trump’s Friday night effort to weaponize coronavirus against his enemies has already aged poorly

    excerpt:

"Coming as they did at the end of a week in which the stock market endured a historic slide among rising worries about the impact the coronavirus will have at home and abroad, Trump’s comments were meant to project the image that everything is under control. But using the word “hoax” in the context of talking about a possible pandemic outbreak that has already killed about 3,000 people around the world is obviously irresponsible.

Then, on Saturday, news of the first coronavirus death in the United States broke. Trump called a news conference to address the situation and was asked if he regrets the comments he made South Carolina — particularly his comments about a coronavirus-related “hoax.”

“No no no,” Trump responded. “‘Hoax’ referring to the action [Dems] take to try and pin this on somebody, because we’ve done such a good job. The hoax is on them.”"

In Trump's mind, the hoax was the act of the Democrats accusing him of not doing an adequate job on preparing the U.S. for the coronavirus when Trump thought that he was going a great job based on, at the time, only 15 cases and a day before the first documented coronavirus death in the U.S.

It was easy for Trump to claim that his virus response was great before the virus hit the U.S. in earnest.

As the weeks ensued, it became clear that Trump could have done much more in preparedness, which supports the argument that the concern expressed by the Democrats and the media wasn't a hoax.

Trump to review options to 'open the country up' as US coronavirus cases pass China, Italy

Trump to review options to 'open the country up' as US coronavirus cases pass China, Italy

    excerpt:

"President Donald Trump will hear recommendations from the White House coronavirus task force this weekend on plans to "open the country up" as the economy continues to strain under the pandemic.

The new guidance on how to kickstart the economy will come days after the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the U.S. surpasses China or Italy, making it the country with the largest outbreak in the world.

Vice President Mike Pence told reporters at the White House on Thursday that the task force will share "a range of recommendations and additional guidance for going forward" with the next steps in its efforts to blunt the impact of the coronavirus.

"The president has made it clear, that in his words, he wants to open the country up. But we're going to do that responsibly, and as the president told the governors today, we'll do that based on the data," said Pence, who leads the U.S. response to the outbreak."

After Considering $1 Billion Price Tag for Ventilators, White House Has Second Thoughts
A deal with General Motors and Ventec Life Systems to produce tens of thousands of the critical lifesaving devices seemed imminent. Then the announcement was pulled back.

After Considering $1 Billion Price Tag for Ventilators, White House Has Second Thoughts

    excerpt:

"But a General Motors spokesman said that “Project V,” as the ventilator program is known, was moving very fast, and a company official said “there’s no issue with retooling.”

    A Ventec representative agreed.

“Ventec and G.M. have been working at breakneck speed to leverage our collective expertise in ventilation and manufacturing to meet the needs of the country as quickly as possible and arm medical professionals with the number of ventilators needed to save lives,” said Chris O. Brooks, Ventec’s chief strategy officer.

The only thing missing was clarity from the government about how many ventilators they needed — and who would be paid to build them.

The shortage of ventilators has emerged as one of the major criticisms of the Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus. The need to quickly equip hospitals across the country with tens of thousands more of the devices to treat those most seriously ill with the virus was not anticipated despite the Trump administration’s own projection in a simulation last year that millions of people could be hospitalized. And even now, the effort to produce them has been confused and disorganized."

Trump grants major disaster declaration for state of Maryland

    excerpt:

"President Trump on Thursday approved Maryland's major disaster declaration, allowing the state to access federal aid as it combats the coronavirus outbreak.

"The President’s action makes Federal funding available to State, tribal, and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations for emergency protective measures, including direct Federal assistance, for all areas in the State of Maryland impacted by COVID-19," the White House said in a statement.

Other states also had disaster declarations approved on Thursday, including Missouri and Illinois."

People dying of the coronavirus can rest easy knowing that Trump is spending time to obtain the best deal for them on ventilators.
