Trump gives himself emotional gratification at the moment at the expense of further spreading the virus and crippling efforts to control it, which cripples his campaign.

Letterman asked Trump where his ties were made after Trump had been bragging about them. Trump's sheepish response was, "oh, um, they're made, uh, somewhere..." Then Letterman read the labels and they were made in places like Mexico, China, and Bangladesh.

 

This is the standard response from the brain-pickled right-wingers.

What about Hillary?? What about the Clintons?? What about that crooked Whitewater land deal?? (after I think 6 different REPUBLICAN "investigations", there was nothing illegal so they could not bring any charges.) It was all a smear campaign. Political grandstanding to suck in the truly gullible. It's like fishing with a bare hook and coming up with 1000 silly, brainless fish.

The right-wing operatives must laugh like hell as they puff on their hand-rolled cigars and sip their single-malt scotch.

 

Yep. I was watching that episode of Letterman! The look on Rump's orange / red face ………… PRICELESS!!!!!

 

The issue of younger people contracting the coronavirus represents a dilemma for the Trump administration which has been hoping that schools will reopen to give the impression of a return to normalcy in time for the November election.

The rise in cases among younger people could complicate the plans of leaders who are eager to open schools and universities, resume athletic events and return to normal life and a fully functioning economy.

The increases could reflect a simple reality: Since many states have reopened bars, restaurants and offices, the coronavirus has been allowed to spread more widely across communities, including to more young people. But people in their 20s and 30s are also more likely to go out socializing, experts say, raising concerns that asymptomatic young people are helping to spread the virus to more vulnerable Americans at a time when cases are surging dangerously in the South and the West."

 

One of the speculations about the high number of cases and deaths in Italy is that asymptomatic younger people were unwittingly spreading the virus to the older ones who were much more vulnerable to it. In Italy, the young mingle with the old to an extent not seen in the U.S.

If social distancing efforts wane, such a situation could be ripe in the U.S. as school season approaches with young people possibly bringing home the virus from schools and spreading it to older people.

The issue of the spread of the flu starting in autumn along with an uptick of coronavirus cases places another stressor on the healthcare system which is currently close to its maximum in some states.

In a way it does because it removes the heritage argument from the debate. In America it pretty much goes

"this thing in the past is racist"
then the other side says "well yes but if you loved America you would accept racism as a part of it. We can't fix the present in any way because it erases the past"

What also helps is when people like you change their views. You have the power

Well I know at least one socialist vegan like me who is trained in weapons you have probably only seen in video games And from what I hear Bernie and the left wing views of an America for everyone though tax and love is not that unpopular of an idea among younger Marines many of which are not white so they have no connection to the GOP anymore because they want to defend democracy and they don't like to be looked down on. So maybe you are underestimating them.
