Another apparent attempt by Trump to use the power of the office to prop up his struggling Turnberry resort. Trump’s Request of an Ambassador: Get the British Open for Me Woody Johnson, the N.F.L. owner, Trump donor and ambassador to Britain, was warned not to get involved in trying to move the tournament to a Trump resort in Scotland, but he raised the idea anyway — and he failed. By Mark Landler, Lara Jakes and Maggie Haberman Published July 21, 2020 Updated July 22, 2020, 3:31 a.m. ET Trump’s Request of an Ambassador: Get the British Open for Me excerpt: "LONDON — The American ambassador to Britain, Robert Wood Johnson IV, told multiple colleagues in February 2018 that President Trump had asked him to see if the British government could help steer the world-famous and lucrative British Open golf tournament to the Trump Turnberry resort in Scotland, according to three people with knowledge of the episode. The ambassador’s deputy, Lewis A. Lukens, advised him not to do it, warning that it would be an unethical use of the presidency for private gain, these people said. But Mr. Johnson apparently felt pressured to try. A few weeks later, he raised the idea of Turnberry playing host to the Open with the secretary of state for Scotland, David Mundell."
Trump's bungled response to the coronavirus is damaging farmers already damaged by his trade wars. Trump stated on July 21 that the coronavirus is going to worsen before it improves. The farmers shouldn't put much faith in him considering he's in the same mental state about the virus as he was four months ago when he made the same statement. It's questionable how many more knocks on the chin the once-astute and independent-minded U.S. farmers will take from Trump and how many more times they will praise him for giving them what amounts to another welfare check to try to undo some of the damage he has done to them. Turns out Scientology got 3 checks for $350,000 bucks in the last stimulus bill. Lord Zenu will be proud. Many very large companies did also. Pretty much in line with republican objectives.
Trump expands his use of Gestapo tactics onto other cities with Democratic mayors. Trump expanding Justice Department’s Operation LeGend to Chicago, Albuquerque By Michael Wilner and Bryan Lowry July 22, 2020 10:41 AM https://www.kansascity.com/news/politics-government/article244402912.html excerpt: "“We’re not going to let New York and Chicago and Philadelphia and Detroit and Baltimore and all of these — Oakland is a mess. We’re not going to let this happen in our country. All run by liberal Democrats,” Trump told reporters. The expansion of Operation LeGend, a Justice Department operation that includes agents from the FBI, U.S. Marshals Service, Drug Enforcement Administration and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, comes without the express invitation of local mayors, some of whom are threatening to fight the surge of federal forces in the courts. Both Chicago and Albuquerque are run by Democratic mayors, in states with Democratic governors."
So a militarized right wing takeover of the United States... Nothing to see here, move along, please... Everything is fine, we just changed the definition of "law and order"...
If Trump boastfully thinks the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, which is deliberately made to be simple, is difficult like a Mensa test, then it may be an indication that he really does have psychological problems such as narcissism. College students everywhere would prefer to take the Montreal test instead of an SAT or GRE as the admissions test. People would love to be admitted to Mensa after passing the Montreal test as the admissions test. The truth about Trump's cognitive test Opinion by Peggy Drexler Updated 9:47 AM ET, Wed July 22, 2020 The truth about Trump's cognitive test (opinion) - CNN excerpt: "Acing the Montreal Cognitive Assessment Test, which includes such tasks as identifying animals and drawing a clock, determines nothing other than that the taker is not suffering from mild cognitive dysfunction. (Wallace pointed out to Trump that he, too, took the test and thought it was easy.) It's not even entirely conclusive, designed as a rapid screening test. It takes ten minutes and is not meant to be hard -- unless, that is, you have dementia. It would, it seems, be a test your average fifth grader can pass, and should not, therefore, be used (or cited) as a way to determine one's capacity for acting as an adult, never mind serving as President of the United States of America. And while no test, other than the real world experience of being President, can really prove that someone's up to the job, there's other well-known tests that would be far more illuminating about the President's capacity than the one he keeps touting."
Breaking News: Donald Trump has cured cancer. In a brilliant strategic move the President of the United States Donald Trump has ordered all doctors across America to stop reporting the results of Cancer screenings. The results over the past 24 hours have been nothing shy of remarkable, not one new case of cancer has been reported anywhere across America.

The breathtaking unconstitutionality of Trump’s new census policy Trump cites a handful of sources to justify his attempt to neutralize a constitutional requirement, including a federal statute providing that “the President shall transmit to the Congress a statement showing the whole number of persons in each State” after the census is completed, and a Supreme Court decision indicating that this statute gives the president some discretionary authority over how the census is conducted. Citing the Supreme Court’s decision in Franklin v. Massachusetts (1992), Trump’s memorandum argues that “Congress has provided that it is ‘the President’s personal transmittal of the report to Congress’ that ‘settles the apportionment’ of Representatives among the States, and the President’s discretion to settle the apportionment is more than ‘ceremonial or ministerial’ and is essential ‘to the integrity of the process.’” Trump is correct that Franklin reads federal law to give the president some authority over how the census is conducted. The president’s “duties” with respect to the census, according to Franklin, “are not merely ceremonial or ministerial.” Instead, the president may exercise “his accustomed supervisory powers over his executive officers” who conduct the census. But the fact that Trump has some discretionary authority over census officials does not mean that he is free to violate the Constitution. Even if federal law did give Trump the power to ignore the 14th Amendment, that law would be unconstitutional. Nevertheless, without citing any legal authority whatsoever, Trump’s memorandum claims that he should be allowed to determine what the 14th Amendment means.
I can only imagine Clintion or Obama going on about Republicans being his enemy. Had they said even 1/10th of what Trump has I guarantee there would have been massive amounts of Christian right wing terrorism. They would quote passages from the Bible and see themselves as William Wallace and Ben Franklin combined as they shoot up malls and goverment buildings. And Fox would not condone it. They would not outright endorse it either but I suspect their tone would be "what has the left done to push us to this. Why are they so bad we feel the need to kill them now?". But of course now these same people go on about how violent Democrats are. It's very strange to me when gun ownership and ALWAYS reminding people you want to use them is the crux of your political party. I mean if Republicans don't down guns and hate the goverment who are they? People will not take your shit and that is kind of a big deal to them. I guess they only expect they would not take it.
He doesn't have a case. SCOTUS has already ruled it to be unconstitutional. I am not sure that trump knows there is a 14th amendment.
He thinks the president makes any laws he wants and is immune to those laws. He sees himself as a king and must have failed his goverment class. Checks and balances.
