Revisionist history. Democrats can't handle the idea they were the party of slavery and Jim Crowe.

'Fact-Checker' Silent After Being Debunked That Planned Parenthood's Margaret Sanger Had Ties to KKK ⋆ The Washington Sentinel

Yes indeed. The black population was the victim of a social experiment to keep a population poor and dependent on the system. Remove the father from the family, the single mother becomes wedded to the state. The black poverty rate was implemented by the racist LBJ by design.

Trump’s 2020 strategy: Pick a bunch of unpopular battles
    By Aaron Blake
    July 16, 2020 at 11:33 a.m. EDT

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...s-2020-strategy-pick-bunch-unpopular-battles/

Outline - Read & annotate without distractions

    excerpt:

"When President Trump delivered a thinly veiled campaign speech in the White House Rose Garden on Monday, he made precious little mention of the resurgent coronavirus pandemic that has killed more than 130,000 Americans. He instead used the storied setting to air a series of rambling personal grievances, engage in culture wars, lodge factually challenged attacks on Joe Biden and brag on his tenure as president.

He followed that up Wednesday by posting a picture of himself at another storied setting — the White House Resolute Desk — promoting beans and other Goya products, in an attempt to needle liberals who pushed for a Goya boycott over its executive’s praise of Trump.

While the country and even many GOP leaders are calling out for leadership in the face of crisis, Trump is instead preoccupied with using his incomparable perch to push the same grievances he usually does.

Trump has in recent weeks chosen a number of political battles that polls increasingly show do nothing to move the needle in his direction — and if anything show the limitations of his unceasing base strategy.

While Trump has said relatively little of substance lately on the coronavirus outbreak, he has focused like a laser on school reopening. But a new Quinnipiac University poll shows Americans actually oppose his approach on this by a 2-to-1 margin, with 61 percent disapproving of his plans to reopen schools and only 29 percent approving. Women disapproved 69-23.

Further, as The Post’s Philip Bump detailed Wednesday, polling from Yahoo News and YouGov this week showed 77 percent of people say the country’s priority should be to limit the spread of the virus even if kids can’t go back to school, while just 23 percent said reopening schools should be the bigger priority."

    Let's recap what happened here:

    You said:
To this profound and condesending statement, I said
    To which you replied
This is dodging, deflecting, and running away when challenged.

No, in the past the political statement was very pro right wing. Why do you think the Air Force flies over NFL games or why it's a guarantee that any team will have some kind of veterans night?

The military pays for access to these events because young men love sports and they want them to join. The "political statement" that war is good and necessary so you have the luxury of going to a game is made all the time. The team does not want look like they have made a political statement that does not "support troops" so they are pretty much forceed to give discounts and special attention.

Often the actual veterans don't want it, they just want to have a nice night out. It's the civilians who are the most worried about reminding them how America Americas.

Nothing different in theory by saying you don't agree with war or police in the same place.

Americans are just used to the military praise and recruitment culture but it's very strange to the rest of the world.

Maybe he wants to make up for his failed attempt with the Buffalo Bills?

This 2020 nightmare scenario is looking more and more likely

This 2020 nightmare scenario is looking more and more likely - CNNPolitics

    excerpt:

"Even with a normal-ish occupant of the White House, this would all be worrisome. With Trump, it borders on the nightmarish.

Trump is someone who loves chaos. Who tends to provoke rather than calm. And who is, as I noted above, fundamentally incapable of ever admitting he has lost. All of which means he sees the likely uncertainty surrounding the results on November 3 (and the ensuring days) as an opportunity to be exploited. For someone who has a vested interest in preserving the idea that he is always a winner, the delay in knowing who won where and by how much is a golden opportunity. And the longer it takes to affirm the result, the more doubt Trump can sow. And the more effective he will be in doing so."

He is going to force an uncomfortable situation. The military would prefer to let the voting process happen even if it's slow or corrupt it's better than them stepping in. They may need to step in and deal with their own conflict. The services will fight among themselves.
If that gets as far as killing people who knows? Plenty of each opinion that serve think they will need to or America is not America.

I just try to take comfort knowing Trump has done so much to upset them especially the higher ranking people. Your average kid in boot camp may very well have a Trump sticker but the people who really matter have been around for decades.

That was then (a half century ago) and this is now (post-Southern defection to the Republicans).

The "Fact checker" was doing its job, checking and reporting the facts. The "ties to KKK' seem to have been one speech given to that organization, as the "Fact Checker", Politifact pointed out. As Politifact stated "Sanger spoke at one event for the women’s affiliate of the KKK, but it was to educate those women on birth control. And this was the only event she spoke at that any sources or documents pointed to." Is that statement incorrect?
As for the Washington Sentinel: Overall, we rate The Washington Sentinel Questionable based on the use of poor sources, promotion of one-sided propaganda, a lack of transparency, and several failed fact checks. The Washington Sentinel - Media Bias/Fact Check

We absolutely must rise above quibble and quarrel. It's just below us. If we can find a way around the differences we'll have really accomplished something big.

I don't expect Joe to raise much of a stink, but hopefully Kamala will. She can be tough when she wants to be.
