Trump demands Puerto Ricans ‘vote for me' despite island not getting vote

Trump claimed the hurricane deaths in Puerto Rico were fake.

He privately referred to Puerto Rico as poor and dirty and said he wanted to trade it to Denmark in return for Greenland.

An estimated 50,000 Puerto Ricans fled to Florida after the hurricane. The Trump administration apparently finally became aware of the significance of that fact and sent $13 billion in aid to Puerto Rico in September 2020 as the election was approaching.
