How does that relate to quoting somebody out of context to make them seem to say what they didn't say, using it to support your campaign when it didn't, refusing to stop doing it, and then (paradoxically) attacking the person you were quoting. A person who does that (Trump) isn't somebody I'd have confidence in.

BTW, I think Fauci said 300k to 400k in winter, which extends until March 20. And he wasn't flying by the seat of his pants. He was citing the prediction of an IHME model, which incorporates estimates that the rate of deaths is likely to accelerate during the winter months. What Fauci actually said was:"The models tell us that if we do not do the kinds of things we're talking about in the cold of the fall and winter, we could have from 300,000 to 400,000 deaths." Health Metrics and Evaluation's leading model predicts 410,000 Americans will have died of Covid by January 1, 2021.

On the other hand, we have the estimates by the pathological prevaricator President (more than 20,000 false or misleading claims while in office), whose brilliance led to his own hospitalization with COVID-19 and the hosting of a super spreader event at the White House, and his adoring simian Aussie troll fan whose expertise on the subject has never been established.

 

Trump is still upset Fauci threw an opening day pitch and he didn't. At the Orlando rally, Trump insulted Fauci's pitch.

The U.S. isn't exempt from another dangerous virus just because SARS-CoV-2 is occurring now. Another could arrive at any time.

The next one could have a high fatality rate for young adults and children. Trump would likely behave in the same denialist fashion.

Similar to the late Herman Cain, Trump has shown that almost nothing fazes his denialist mindset during a crisis.

 

Trump himself is like a virus, infecting the country with denialism and irrationality that fosters the spread of disease.

 

Although death slows a denialist considerably.

 

Trump is scheduled to visit Janesville, WI on Saturday for a private fundraiser, not a public rally.

He planned to visit Janesville the day after he was rushed to the hospital because of the coronavirus. The Janesville rally was scheduled after he had tried to visit the hot spot of La Crosse, WI where the mayor didn't want him.

Trump is appealing the tax matter to the supreme court a second time after having lost in the lower courts again. He is doing so because he is hiding documentation which establishes without doubt that he has committed several crimes. Cyrus Vance is going to put Trump in prison.

The downtrodden to whom Trump appealed during the 2016 campaign can end up being disadvantaged by an earlier end to census counting that Trump wants. It can render them less represented in Congressional districts and reduce their federal aid.

Trump failed to implement another ploy earlier in the year of demanding that a citizenship question be added to the census, apparently to scare some people into not answering (similar to the ploy that was being used recently in the Detroit area to scare people into not registering to vote).
