    No, it's pretty straightforward, actually.

But if you're confused, I'm happy to clarify.

You seem to be bordering on racism by making the claim that Obama was only respected because he was black.

Obama was respected because he was an intelligent, compassionate man.

Trump, on the other hand, is a veritable dotard.

The founding fathers never wanted the citizens allegiance to the flag as if it were a religious symbol. The Pledge of Allegiance was written by a christian socialist named Francis Bellamy, more than a century after the revolutionary war. Pledging allegiance to the country means supporting the country no matter what. This kind of thinking fosters the type of super-state jingoism that runs rampant in North Korea, for example.

So no, allegiance to the flag is toxic.

While I do agree that the NFL is getting what it deserves with its piss poor ratings and lower viewership, by fostering the protesting of the national anthem. I don't think it's Trump's business to politicize the NFL any more than it's already become. The NFL however is pretty fucking hypocritical with all their celebratory rules. They penalize players for doing victory dances after touchdowns, but they praise players who do acts when the national anthem is sung.

    You're*. "Your" implies possession

And actually, no. No one is fired. The NFL owners supported what their players did yesterday. You do understand how the first amendment works I presume? Trump doesn't have the power to fire an employer's employees. The NFL can, and probably would if it was one player costing them money, like Kaepernick. But they arent going to fire 200 players.

I've heard great things about Canada so that's a sweet suggestion but no, I think I'll stay here in my home.

Anyways I'm bored of talking about this manufactured controversy, bye.

Yes. I am surprised (although I shouldn't be) with the outcry in response to the various football players refusing to stand for the pledge of allegiance. I skim my pages on social media, and people are truly outraged. I wonder how many of them stop and really consider what "the Pledge" is and what it really represents.

It might be a mistake to assume that all vets want to be honored by public displays of patriotism from the population at large. I'm a vet and I am more moved when people simply thank me for my service. And I generally have more respect for someone that works to make the country a better place rather than those who follow the herd and stand for the anthem or recite the Pledge Of Allegiance. Incidently, we never recited The Pledge or sung the National Anthem during my time of service.

My dad was drafted and served honorably in Vietnam. Sadly, he is no longer here but I am understandably curious what he would think about all this manufactured controversy. I strongly suspect he wouldn't give a damn. Like me, he would identify more with the people he served with and would be much more worried about how our armed forces are being used by our elected politicians. To suggest that not standing for the anthem is somehow dishonoring me and all the other vets is just another way of using us for political reasons. I'll defend any citizen's right to freedom of speech without recrimination.

    Don't respect the flag?

    Your fired!

    YOUR FIRED!

    Liberalism is a disease.

Use Nancy Pelosi as example. "you have to pass a law so you find out whats in it"

The left, the racists, faggots and cunts, hate being told they have a mental disorder.

    This is sad Meliai.

I like your posts a lot and always have over the years.

Fight for your flag. Your child needs Liberty.

    We are same generation.

Don't say all allegiance blah blah.

Allegiance is loyalty. If you dont fight for that, you might as well bend over.

    My my.
Liberalism is what the country was founded on, all the founding fathers were liberals.
Nancy Pelosi's remark was taken out of context, but we've covered that before and some people don't understand what out of context means.

    Mental disorder......lol

I don't fight for pieces of cloth or flags, I fight for what flags stand for; morals, values, truth, humility, valor, compassion, etc.

Meanwhile where's the outrage over Trump's lap dog, Jared Kusner's use of a private email server in the White House?

I assume Trump will want him to be LOCKED UP!

Also we have three million Untied States citizens in dire need of aid due to a hurricane...and Trump and the Republicans are letting them down!

Oh, wait they're in Puerto Rico. I wonder if Trump knows that Puerto Rico is part of the U.S.?

    Thanks

I'm not sure what you find so sad?

I respect the right for anyone to protest, particularly in such a quiet, unassuming way. That IS liberty. The right to protest is so important to the liberty and freedom of this country it is covered in the very first amendment of the Constitution.

Colin Kaepernick didnt protest the flag or the national anthem, he silently, in the most unobtrusive way possible, protested the racial injustices he sees in this country. I don't see why thats so offensive to people.

But that's all beside the point now. The shitstorm that happened yesterday came about because of a twitter storm our dummy in chief unleashed Sunday morning before the games. And he pissed off a lot of players as well as the owners, because who they fire and for what reason just isn't Trump's business.

And I'm pretty sure he knew what would happen. Trump is good at playing his audience and he understands the power of media.

The real question is, why did he want to distract us? And from what?
