Laser-focused on 2020, Trump seeks a Michigan Legislature that could help him in 2024

    excerpt:

"It’s unusual for a former president to endorse in races so deep down the ballot, especially nearly nine months before the Republican primary. But Trump has backed seven candidates for state House or Senate seats in Michigan, an electoral battleground that he lost narrowly to Joe Biden last year — more than anywhere else. Most of the endorsements, including Rocha’s, were announced in recent weeks. All of the candidates have one thing in common: They’ve made election administration and investigating last year’s vote central to their platforms.

Trump’s focus on the state illuminates just how driven he is to exact revenge on those who haven’t supported his baseless claim that the last election was stolen from him. It’s also a play to install allies who could be helpful should he run for president again in 2024 and find himself locked in another close race. The Republican-controlled Legislature spent eight months investigating the results of the 2020 presidential election and found no reason to doubt their legitimacy. GOP leaders have also refused to accede to Trump’s demands for a ballot review like the one Republicans authorized in Arizona, which found no proof of fraud and concluded that Biden defeated Trump in the state by even more votes than the certified tally showed.

“Michigan needs a new legislature,” Trump wrote in his Nov. 15 endorsement of Rachelle Smit for state representative. “The cowards there now are too spineless to investigate Election Fraud.”"

Many hours were spent by the MI state legislature investigating the 2020 election.

GOP investigation finds no Michigan vote fraud, deems many claims ‘ludicrous’ | Bridge Michigan

    excerpt:

"The report, which was released Wednesday, concludes there is no proof of dead voters or “fractional voting,” no evidence of a fraudulent “ballot dump” in Detroit and no proof any Michigan precincts had more than 100 percent voter turnout. (The report follows Bridge Michigan articles that debunked many of the same allegations months ago.)

The report also repudiates arguments GOP activists have used in calling for a “forensic audit” of the Michigan election, including claims that Dominion voting machines were connected to the internet or “manipulated” in rural Antrim County, where human error by the Republican clerk led to initially skewed results that have fueled false claims of a global conspiracy."

Michigan Senate finds no voter fraud. But here's what it did find

    excerpt:

"The report also delved into controversial claims made after the election, including that hundreds of dead people voted and almost 290,000 illegal votes were cast by absentee ballot.

While the investigation found that there are "glaring issues that must be addressed" in state election law, it added there is "no evidence presented at this time" to prove "significant acts of fraud" occurred to subvert the will of voters. The committee recommended giving county clerks the ability to remove deceased voters from the Qualified Voter File, opposed the mass mailing of absentee voter applications and urged the Michigan Bureau of Elections to investigate possible partisan poll worker recruitment in Detroit and Wayne County."

In good old GOP fashion, they will have to investigate again.... and keep doing so until they find what they want to find. (even if there is nothing to find)

‘I wanted him to be successful’: Trump lashes Biden over handling of coronavirus

‘I wanted him to be successful’: Trump lashes Biden over handling of coronavirus

    excerpt:

"Former President Donald Trump has hit out at his successor over his handling of the coronavirus pandemic, commenting that his attempts to stem the pandemic have been ‘disastrous’.

Speaking in an interview with Varney & Co. on Fox Business, Mr Trump said he had hoped President Joe Biden would be successful in his attempt to tackle the issue.

Speaking to Stuart Varney on Friday, Mr Trump said: “Look, I wanted [Biden] to be successful on the whole thing on Covid, or as I call it, the China virus.

“I wanted him to be successful. He’s been totally unsuccessful. It’s a disaster what’s happened. I think he’s done a terrible job on the coronavirus.”"

To be fair, Trump would know what a "terrible job on the coronavirus" looks like, having done so himself.

Trump's response to the coronavirus was a disaster and is part of the reason he lost the 2020 election, which he erroneously blames on voting fraud.

Trump's prized claim when trying to defend his mishandling of the pandemic is that he thinks he invented the vaccines, which he didn't.

Trump doesn't understand that vaccines don't end pandemics. Vaccinations do

He hasn't been able to convince his own followers to vaccinate, partly because of the plethora of the anti-rational, anti-science, truther rhetoric he drilled into their minds during the election year to try to score points with his base.

To Trump, the vaccines are a psychological trophy for him to admire because he mistakenly thinks he invented them, but they are useless without people vaccinating.

Former Trump campaign advisor leaving Newsmax.

Former Trump Campaign Advisor Steve Cortes Is Leaving Newmax – Deadline

    excerpt:

"Steve Cortes, former Trump Campaign advisor is leaving right-wing cable channel Newsmax. He will host his last broadcast within the next week.

According to the dailybeast, Cortest and the network have had tension between them for some time. The host denies that there were any issues, but Newsmax’s company-wide vaccine policy is what led him to exit.

Earlier this month, Newsmax instituted a rule that all employees must either be vaccinated or submit to weekly COVID testing. The news of such a policy, which was in compliance with the Biden administration’s policy for businesses with more than 100 employees, pushed Cortes to unequivocally declare on Twitter that he wouldn’t have any part of it."

Ali Alexander will comply with subpoena.

Jan. 6 Organizer Ali Alexander Will Comply With Subpoena Because He’s Broke

    excerpt:

"“The only reason I’m going is because I don’t want to go to jail. So under the threat of imprisonment and spending tens and tens and tens of thousands of dollars on lawyers, I will be privately deposed before this committee in December,” he said.

Following Steve Bannon’s indictment in early November, Alexander spun himself into a tizzy, making the case that one must live life “accept[ing] that you will die.” Speaking in the third person, Alexander added in his Saturday Telegram post that he would “not [be] backing down” from the congressional committee that he claims is attempting to “imprison him.” Alexander didn’t return a Daily Beast request for comment on Saturday evening."

Trump has an opportunity to keep Alexander quiet by giving some of the 100+ million dollars he collected during his 'stop the steal' campaign.

The guy wants to be the Emperor of America, with total integration of church, state, and military. The nexus between church and state became evident when his faithful servant Flynn made the declaration last week. When he first became president, Stephen Miller told Chis Cuomo that a directive by the president shall not be questioned. That was an announcement which Mussolini would have become jealous of upon hearing. Constantine the Emperor of early Christendom understood the methods of using the church and the concept of patriotism to control the undereducated populous. Maybe someone here in America is coaching Trump on the finer art of empire building, or maybe just confiscating one?

Trump challenges media and Democrats to debate his electoral fraud lie

    excerpt:

"Donald Trump has challenged leading editors and politicians to debate him in public over his lie that Joe Biden beat him in 2020 through electoral fraud.

In a typically rambling statement on Sunday, the former president complained about “the heads of the various papers [and] far left politicians” and said: “If anyone would like a public debate on the facts, not the fiction, please let me know. It will be a ratings bonanza for television!”"
