The President was always prompt in giving me immediate visual feedback when I appeared on TV,” Barr added, recalling an “amusing conversation” about his weight after he made a self-deprecating remark about his “jowliness” on television. No, Bill,” Trump said. “You’re fine, you’re fine. Yeah, you’re big. But you carry it well. Whatever you do, don’t lose too much weight. Because then your face is going to sag. You’re lucky because your face, I mean your cheeks—they’re filled out. They look smooth and young. But I guarantee you, if you lose a lot of weight, you’ll look old and saggy.”
Trump doesn't understand Putin's remarks and mistakenly thought they were benevolent. Putin declared regions in eastern Ukraine 'independent' just before his invasion. He had been supporting insurgents in those regions since 2014 to fight the legitimate democracy of Ukraine after the president he had supported in Ukraine was kicked out in 2014. Putin used the term 'independent' as a premise to support those regions by invading all of Ukraine. Putin also used the alibi that the Ukraine government was supposedly committing genocide on the pro-Putin insurgent regions. Trump doesn't understand any of that. He didn't before the invasion, and his comments to Hannity after the invasion show that he still doesn't.
Trump's stock reply to questions about complex world situations (when he doesn't rant about wind turbines) are often "I got along with him" or "I didn't get along with him." In Trump's mind, the world hinges on whether he thinks he got along with someone. 'I got along': Trump avoids criticizing Putin
In rare rebuke, GOP leader calls for Tina Peters to suspend campaign after indictment excerpt: "Driving the news: Colorado Republican Party chairperson Kristi Burton Brown and other party leaders issued a statement Wednesday calling on secretary of state candidate Tina Peters to suspend her campaign for secretary of state after being indicted by a grand jury on 10 criminal charges related to election tampering. What they're saying: "It is our belief, as leaders of the Colorado Republican Party, that any Republican candidate who is indicted with felonies by a grand jury and who will be charged by a Republican district attorney should suspend their campaign while they undergo the legal challenges associated with those indictments," the statement reads. Why it matters: The criminal charges against Peters, who is favored by supporters of former President Trump, threatens to upend the GOP's chances in a key race and spoil its broader message."
Hannity has been trying to coach Trump into criticizing Putin by name for his Ukraine invasion. Hannity Desperately Hints at Trump to Slam Putin in Latest Interview and Trump Isn't Getting It at All Evan Brechtel Mar. 11, 2022 Hannity Desperately Hints at Trump to Slam Putin in Latest Interview and Trump Isn't Getting It at All excerpt: "Hannity's relationship to the former President has come under heavy scrutiny throughout the last four years, generating concerns about how his allegiance to Trump affects his coverage. Hannity generated controversy when he spoke at a Trump rally in 2018, despite technically being considered a journalist. More recently, investigators with the House Select Committee investigating the pro-Trump insurrection at the Capitol last year uncovered texts Hannity sent to Trump's chief of staff, Mark Meadows, urging Meadows to convince then-President Trump to call off the rioters. On Thursday night, Trump called into Hannity's show for an interview, where Hannity once again sought to do Trump's damage control by eliciting a condemnation of Putin from him."
Tina Peters is still under investigation by the state of Colorado and the federal government and could face additional charges in those jurisdictions. Her recent indictment was issued by Mesa county.
Tina Peters apparently stole her ex-husband's house. The Tina Peters saga explained: Everything that's happened with Mesa County's clerk excerpt: "Dispute with ex-husband. Amid the investigations, Thomas Peters filed a lawsuit alleging criminal theft of his home by his ex-wife, Tina Peters. According to the court complaint, Thomas Peters bought a home with his own money after the couple separated in 2018. He filed for divorce in November 2021. At some point, Thomas Peters granted his former wife power of attorney over his financial matters, but later revoked it, according to the lawsuit. He alleges that, on or around the same day that he revoked the power of attorney, Tina Peters filed a quit claim deed and “unilaterally” transferred the home to her name. Peters has not yet filed a response to the lawsuit, but a spokesman for her legal defense fund, Rory McShane, shared a brief statement: “Divorces are deeply painful family situations. We completely understand the necessity of the press to cover Tina’s professional life but we ask for respect and privacy in this matter.”"
That's similar to Tina Peters being granted power over elections when she was elected county recorder.
New lawsuit poses even more trouble for Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters – AnneLandmanBlog.com excerpt: "Allegations against Tina Peters in the case include “conversion” (defined as “unauthorized possession of personal property causing curtailment of the owner’s possession,” in this case residential property), “breach of fiduciary duty” and “theft by deception.” Documents about the lawsuit were sent anonymously and are of public interest. The case number is 2021CV30321, and the judge in the case is 21st Judicial District Court Judge Gretchen B. Larson. The next hearing is a review set for February 22, 2022 in Room 12 of the Mesa County Justice Center."
If Hannity ever asks Trump about Tina Peters, Trump's expected response would be, 'I got along with her. But maybe she's a different person now.'
Former Attorney General William Barr says he'd still vote for Trump in 2024 Yet despite the ugly back and forth between the two, Barr said on TODAY Monday that he would still vote for Trump in the 2024 presidential election if Trump becomes the Republican nominee. Because I believe that the greatest threat to the country is the progressive agenda being pushed by the Democratic Party, it's inconceivable to me that I wouldn't vote for the Republican nominee," Barr told Savannah Guthrie. "It's hard to project what the facts are going to turn out to be three years hence, but as of now, it's hard for me to conceive that I wouldn't vote for the Republican nominee."
No one was easier on Russia than Trump. Trump whined about sanctions against Russia being too hard. Putin didn't invade Ukraine while he was extracting every bit of political mileage from Trump in the hopes of making an invasion easier for him later. 'I got along': Trump avoids criticizing Putin excerpt: "The Fox News host continued: “And you understood that they were capable of evil things.” “Putin is for Russia, and you see what happened,” Trump responded. “And that is all because they didn’t respect our leader. Look, there was nobody, and Putin will tell you this — if he was telling the truth, and I am sure he has told it to all of his inner sanctum — nobody was tougher on Russia than me.”"
Putin even waited until after the 2022 Olympics were finished in China that he attended so as to not look as bad to China and the rest of the world when invading Ukraine.
China asked Russia to delay invasion until after Olympics, Western intel shows - CNN A Western intelligence report indicated that Chinese officials in early February requested that senior Russian officials wait until after the Beijing Olympics had finished before beginning an invasion into Ukraine, US officials said Wednesday.
Trump loses again. https://www.cnbc.com/2022/03/11/trump-loses-bid-to-countersue-rape-accuser-e-jean-carroll.html excerpt: "Former President Donald Trump on Friday lost his effort to be allowed to countersue and seek financial damages from the writer E. Jean Carroll, who accuses him of raping her years ago in a New York City department store. In his scathing decision rejecting Trump's effort, Manhattan federal court Judge Lewis Kaplan said there is good reason to believe that the request is a delaying tactic by the former president to further stall Carroll's defamation lawsuit against him. Kaplan wrote that the request smacks of "bad faith" by Trump, who waited 14 months to seek permission to answer Carroll's claims with a countersuit alleging harassment and arguing that she is making "baseless" accusations. The judge said that delaying the case further would prejudice Carroll's right to have her claims tried in court."
Likelihood of criminal charges against Trump rising, experts say excerpt: "The filing by the House panel investigating the 6 January assault on the Capitol by a mob of pro-Trump supporters stated that it has “a good-faith basis for concluding that the president and members of his campaign engaged in a criminal conspiracy to defraud the United States”. The panel’s hard-hitting findings about Trump’s criminal schemes were contained in a federal court filing involving top Trump lawyer John Eastman, who has fought on attorney client privilege grounds turning over a large cache of documents including emails sought by the committee. Back in January, the deputy attorney general, Lisa Monaco, also revealed a criminal investigation was being launched into a far reaching scheme in seven states that Biden won which was reportedly overseen by Trump’s ex-lawyer Rudy Giuliani to replace legitimate electors with false ones pledged to Trump."
