Trump's political revenge tour takes on Republicans who broke with him over Jan. 6

    excerpt:

"Trump's prominence in the GOP — and the fact that those who praise him the most also often get opportunities in the spotlight — was visible at the Conservative Political Action Conference held in Florida last month.

The conference, for example, did not feature Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney, a staunch conservative who is also a vocal Trump critic, as it had in the past. However, it did feature Harriet Hageman, who is challenging Cheney with Trump's support.

In his CPAC keynote speech, Trump exhorted the crowd to "fight and work hard to elect candidates who believe in the principles and policies that we hold so dear.""

Trump's political revenge tour takes on Republicans who broke with him over Jan. 6

    excerpt:

"Even while Trump remains the center of the Republican universe, Heye sees his power possibly ebbing.

"What we're starting to see is he doesn't dominate the political stage like he used to," Heye said. "And as he's had some rallies, we've seen more empty seats, and that's what's going to be interesting to see where it is — does he remain the draw that he's been for five years now?"

It's also becoming clear that a Trump endorsement doesn't make or break a campaign. He endorsed Rep. Ted Budd in the North Carolina Republican Senate primary, for example, and Budd has reportedly disappointed Trump in his polling and fundraising.

Meanwhile, a Trump-backed bill failed this week in Wyoming, which was aimed at preventing people from changing parties ahead of primaries. That's something that could allow Democrats to help Cheney in her primary fight."

Maybe he didn't want to talk about how Mexico was going to pay for that wall?

Durham has been on a campaign for years to rewrite Mueller's investigation of Trump by investigating the investigators.

A recent effort is a flimsy, pro-Trump narrative, 27-page indictment (that normally requires one page) that accuses Sussman of lying to the FBI for not mentioning that his data firm was asked by people working on behalf of Hillary Clinton to do work for them.

Durham is claiming that Sussman did material damage to the FBI by not mentioning the connection to Clinton, an omission he thinks caused the FBI to work on the case and use resources that it otherwise wouldn't have done.

Michael Sussmann's Attorneys: John Durham Engaged in 'Extraordinary Prosecutorial Overreach' and Failed to Cite a 'Single Analogous Precedent' for Indictment

    excerpt:

"The filing continued by alleging that Durham’s team “has not identified a single analogous precedent for [the] prosecution” of Sussmann.

“We previously noted that the defense is aware of no case in which an individual has provided a tip to the government and been charged with making a false statement for something other than providing a false tip,” the paperwork explains. “The Special Counsel has not called the Court’s attention to a single case (or even failed prosecution) to the contrary.”

In other words, per Sussmann’s review of American jurisprudence, Durham is on extremely thin ice."

Just before Barr resigned from the Trump administration near the end of 2020, he burrowed Durham by giving him a very broad brush to investigate nearly anything related to the Mueller investigation, and anything along the way, with an open-ended time frame in an effort to defend Trump to the maximum.

It could conceivably extend through Biden's term (and beyond), provided that the current AG continues to approve the investigation and provide more funding.

Durham used the murky term 'exploited'. It isn't illegal or unethical to monitor domain name traffic. It isn't some sort of illegal 'spying'.

Michael Sussmann's Attorneys: John Durham Engaged in 'Extraordinary Prosecutorial Overreach' and Failed to Cite a 'Single Analogous Precedent' for Indictment

    excerpt:

"Durham wrote in a recent filing that a tech executive who supported Clinton’s campaign “exploited” data from Trump Tower and the Executive Office of the President to impugn Trump. Certain pro-Trump outlets characterized those allegations as “spying,” a claim that Durham never made. The data in question was from the public domain and collected before Trump’s tenure in office.

Durham responded that the media may “have overstated, understated, or otherwise misinterpreted facts contained in” his previous filings; the judge said the lawyers should focus on him and not on dropping insinuations that might inflame the public."

A 'dignified loss' is an oxymoron for Trump.

Even after Trump won against Hillary, he continued to rant about her for a couple months, like the campaign was still going. People referred to him as a 'sore winner'.

A sore winner like Trump is certainly going to be a sore loser. A really sore loser (his insurrection at the Capitol).

The Republican Attorneys General Association and its funding group, the Rule of Law Defense Fund, were involved in planning the march to the Capitol.

Trump was likely informed about it somehow and told his followers to march to the Capitol during his rally at the Ellipse on Jan. 6.

Documented | Republican Attorneys General Dark Money Group Organized…

    excerpt:

“I'm calling for the Rule of Law Defense Fund with an important message,” the robocall stated. “The march to save America is tomorrow in Washington D.C. at the Ellipse in President's Park between E St. and Constitution Avenue on the south side of the White House, with doors opening at 7:00 a.m. At 1:00 p.m., we will march to the Capitol building and call on congress to stop the steal. We are hoping patriots like you will join us to continue to fight to protect the integrity of our elections. For more information, visit MarchtoSaveAmerica.com. This call is paid for and authorized by the Rule of Law Defense Fund, 202-796-5838.”

RLDF’s role in organizing the protests, which turned into a violent mob attack inside the Capitol, is ironic given its 2020 election campaign warning of “lawless liberal mobs'' burning down buildings and committing violence. The campaign, dubbed “Lawless Liberals”, came in the aftermath of the largely peaceful protests following the murder of George Floyd by police and the shooting of Jacob Blake.

“The Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA)’s five-month Lawless Liberals video campaign repeatedly warned Americans about the dangerous reality of lawless liberals run amok in cities across the country,” RAGA said in a statement.

Analysis | When did the Jan. 6 rally become a march to the Capitol?
    By Philip Bump, National correspondent
    February 10, 2021

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/02/10/when-did-jan-6-rally-become-march-capitol/

    excerpt:

"One of the groups supporting the March to Save America was the Rule of Law Defense Fund, the policy arm of the Republican Attorneys General Association. In a robocall sent out on Jan. 5, which was obtained by the watchdog group Documented, it promoted the next day’s events — and a march.

“The March to Save America is tomorrow in Washington, D.C., at the Ellipse in President’s Park between E St. and Constitution Avenue on the south side of the White House, with doors opening at 7:00 a.m,” the message read. “At 1:00 p.m., we will march to the Capitol building and call on Congress to stop the steal.”

Speaking at noon on the day of the short-lived insurrection, Trump also announced a march."

Various groups were communicating on underground web channels leading up to Trump's riot.

Some had their own nefarious intentions not readily known to the public (the 'just wait until Wednesday' people).

I trust you are aware that there have been very recent articles about Hillary’s, and the DNC’s, shenanigans including eavesdropping on her opponent,.. even after the election…
let alone the Russia collusion deception….
Even if you are a fan of Hillary, you should be concerned when anyone thinks they are above the law.

Why are you talking about Hillary again? She lost the 2016 election. That was 6 years ago.
