I've mentioned, a few times, that Mc Carthy is a phony, but I would rather see him as Speaker as opposed to a trumpette.

Maybe trump told him to "run Josh run".

McCarthy mistakenly thinks that the GOP can now easily return to an era where there was a semblance of rationality and at least some sense of duty to promote the party in general.

He thinks like this after seven years of Trump bastardizing the party with personal populism and instilling everyone with the idea of behaving for personal gain.

McCarthy, who came close to being injured or killed during the Capitol riot, went back to Trump at Mar-a-Lago for personal gain, hoping that Trump would help make him Speaker of the House.

Now he wants the rest of the GOP in Congress to put personal gain aside and (in his mind) altruistically promote the party by making him Speaker.
