Trump already made that mistake.

His tariff wars caused businesses in foreign countries to come to the U.S. to avoid import tariffs. U.S. manufacturers moved overseas to avoid the retaliatory tariffs on exports from U.S..

When Trump was president, he even encouraged it by saying he would punish American-based Harley-Davidson for moving some of its operations overseas and reward its competitors from Europe for moving to the U.S.

It's the opposite of his America First rhetoric.

 

Pence didn't attend this year's CPAC.

An optimal moment for Trump would have been if he had recited the Pledge of Allegiance while hugging and kissing the flag with a simulcast of his rioters in the DC jail chanting "Hang Mike Pence!" with Pence in attendance and a wooden structure with a noose on the CPAC stage.
