I've known too. I wouldn't insult the man like that. There's only one person on this forum I legitimately think is racist and it isn't George.
If this happened under Obama, this forum and the media would be fawning over him as the Peace Prize winner who proved himself worthy of it.
They did anyway. Obama was issued a Nobel peace prize for being the first black president of the US. Then he escalated the drone war. I had high hopes for Obama. I thought here at last we had a president who would end the reckless War on Drugs. He didn't do shit about it.
Oh lord, seriously? You know very well that I don't even think "The KKK" is a viable issue. I've lived in Georgia now for 20 years and the only KKK losers I see are on the TV news and then it's like a dozen of them at best being counter protested by hundreds. I'm not "sensitive" about it, I think it's laughable how much credit you give them.
I assumed he meant some people assuming your thoughts on race due to being white living in Georgia. I remember it coming up before, couldn't say which thread though.
Yea, in some distant thread I admitted that when I was moving to Georgia I had a lot of preconceived ideas about it. But it was a good offer from a massive corporation, so I took the bait. I fully expected to see cops beating black people in public, klansmen directing traffic and weekly cross burnings. None of that came to pass and I learned that most of the population here wants nothing to do with anyone associated with KKK fools. And that was nearly 20 years ago. What's weird and disturbing is how the KKK is called out these days as if they were going through a major renaissance, supposedly due to Obama. I hear figures like "membership is up over 75%" and such. Yea right. What's 75% of a dozen losers dressed like headwaiters from hell? And I hear about their terrible klan violence. But where is it? All they do is spew crap on websites that regularly go down because they can't pay their bills. They don't actually DO anything else. What I do see though is the value in holding up the KKK as a way to shame everyone else in the US who shares their color. It's a tired, but oddly effective tactic among hard leftists who enjoy ramping up the hate in this country. Even when the KKK was at their peak, most white Americans wanted nothing to do with them. But that doesn't stop some assholes from painting "all" white people with the klan brush. There used to be a word for this.
Actually, the report is not that flattering for trump. oh, I think you meant that nunes is trump's gag son.
Obama wouldn't have treated nuclear war as a dick-waving contest complete with statements like 'mine is bigger than yours'.
People. I really should go back and delete a lot of the previous posts. The thread is about Trump and things to do with Trump. Let's stop the general attacks on the left and the right. Comment about policies, not the entire left or right movements.
Don't get ruffled up. I am not a TRUMP SUPPORTER I just felt like prodding you a little cuz I am a liberal.
Well, George is on the right side of the political spectrum. Lots of people in this country are actually more Independent than is assumed. I used to be Republican and then Libertarian, then decided Democrat is where I need to be. If we get someone other than TRUMP, I would still not return to Republican world. I disagree with the harsh treatment of the poor in this country.
My brother in law was an engineer for a satellite company in Ellenwood near Decatur Georgia. He did say Atlanta is more liberal than before. I'm a trucker and know first hand a lot of Georgia and Alabama is still stuck in the pre-civil rights fifties.
Once in a blue moon they get something right. I used to be a republican too... Years ago I would've fit in rather nicely with the more ardent conservatives on this site.
Trump should win the Nobel Peace Prize, says South Korea's Moon Oh dear god. It's like Trump managed a Forrest Gump moment.
Similar to his travel ban that threw a wrench in the gearbox, Trump's imposition of tariffs has lacked foresight and has created uncertainty in the markets. Businesses that could have invested money in equipment and workers have to wait and see what happens with exclusion requests that might take months to process due to the Trump administration not anticipating such a problem. Granting a large number of exclusions for businesses and exemptions for other countries reduces the effect of the tariffs on steel and aluminum imports which was to protect national security. The tariffs can become so watered down that they do little to increase domestic production of steel which undermines the rationale that they were for national security. Requests for Trump Tariff Exclusions Flood Commerce Department By Mark Niquette April 30, 2018, 4:00 AM EDT Updated on April 30, 2018, 7:55 AM EDT Trump Keeps Allies Guessing on Steel Tariffs Ahead of Deadline excerpt: "Companies that win exclusions will be granted refunds for the tariffs, which they are currently paying. But the delays could mean tying up millions of dollars that a business would rather invest in facilities and employees, said Ann Wilson, senior vice president of government affairs for the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association, which represents vehicle suppliers. “This apparent backlog creates uncertainly for our members, which puts businesses –- and jobs -- at risk,” Wilson said in a statement. Some 3,500 exclusion requests have yet to be reviewed, while about 550 had been processed as of April 27, according to the Commerce Department. No decision on a request can be made until it’s been reviewed and posted online for 30 days for any objections."
