Something comes over people after they meet with Trump at Mar-a-Lago.

It's like invasion of the body snatchers.

Trump may be paying Rose money to do an about-face and support him.

She's a speaker at the 2024 RNC convention.

She Was a Pro-Choice, Feminist Celebrity. Now She’s Speaking at the Republican National Convention.

    excerpt:

"Let me get this straight. Someone who has been very vocal about championing victims of sexual assault, rape, harassment, and slut-shaming has decided to support a presidential candidate who, years prior, she claimed was a “f—ing idiot” and who has been found guilty of sexual abuse and has been recorded saying things like “Grab her by the pussy”?

Yes. That pretty much sums it up. And you’re not the only one smelling hypocrisy in the air. In fact, given the complete 180 and the fact that Rose’s MAGA hat–totin’ era seems to have come out of nowhere, there’s a growing conspiracy that Rose must be getting paid heavily to ride hard for Trump."

    https://www.thenation.com/article/politics/trump-documents-case-dsmissal/

    excerpt:

"Jack Smith, of course, has no choice but to play the losing hand he’s been dealt to the bitter end. As to how he does that, he has two options.

First and most likely, he can appeal Cannon’s dismissal to the 11th Circuit. The circuit court will likely stay the dismissal pending a full hearing on the merits, at which point Trump’s lawyers will appeal the 11th Circuit ruling to the Supreme Court. There, six judges who have already declared Trump immune from accountability for official acts while president will have to determine if their fear of Trump’s being held accountable for crimes he committed after he was president is so great that they need to functionally destroy the special counsel rule in order to get him off once again.

Of course, all of those determinations will happen after the election, and if Trump wins that election, the whole issue becomes moot anyway."

Trump appears with bandaged ear at Republican convention

    excerpt:

"The conference also heard from an ex-Trump critic, the model and rapper Amber Rose, who described her political journey towards the ex-president. She added: "Trump supporters don’t care if you’re black, white, gay or straight - it’s all love.""

The first day of the 2024 RNC convention was filled with anti-LGBT inflammatory rhetoric.

That cartoon is symbolic of a deeper problem with the U.S. that hasn't yet been fully appreciated.

The arguments used to point out the dangers of Trump assume that most politicians and the general public are still ethical. It doesn't take into account that many people now see the attributes of someone like Hitler as an asset of a U.S. politician, not a liability. Trump himself has said that Hitler did some great things. He has praised today's autocrats and befriended them while criticizing democratic leaders.

Once a country has started going down that path, it's difficult to reverse course. It can infiltrate institutions that were once thought to be the safeguards of democracy. It took a world war to stop it last time. The U.S. helped stop it last time in an era when it hadn't yet become fascist.

In his usual narcissistic self, Trump says he made the perfect head turn to avoid the bullet that otherwise would have went through the back side of his skull.

Trump had a CT scan after the shooting.

Everything turned out normal. The usual vacancy in the cranium.

Melania still not with Trump at RNC convention.

More chants of "Fight! Fight! Fight!" from the convention attendees, echoing Trump's chants to the rally crowd just after he was injured, as he walked through the convention hall.

Trump appears with bandaged ear at Republican convention

    excerpt:

"With a bandage strapped over one ear, Donald Trump made a triumphant return to the public eye on Monday evening at the Republican National Convention, receiving a rapturous welcome from thousands of supporters two days after an attempt on his life.

The former president entered the convention arena in Milwaukee with a fist raised and to the strains of a live performance of “God Bless the USA”.

He then slowly walked through cheering crowds of delegates - some with tears in their eyes - before greeting key political allies and members of his family, including three of his children, but not his wife Melania.

At moments, the audience pumped their fists and called out “Fight! Fight! Fight!” – echoing Trump’s cry after a bullet grazed his ear at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday."

Trump and Musk are now lovers after being at each other's throats, just like Trump and Vance.

    And Trump and Graham.

    And Trump and Rubio.

    And Trump and Cruz.

    And Trump and McConnell

    And Trump and Haley

    And Trump and Barr

Alito and Thomas are the oldest Supreme Court members.

They could strategically retire during a possible second Trump administration and allow Trump two more nominations (one of whom could even be Aileen Cannon as a reward to her).

Trump has already placed three justices on the Supreme Court who could be there for 20 to 30 years.

It could be decades before the Supreme Court recovers from what Trump did to it.

    https://thehill.com/homenews/campai...e-republican-national-convention-speech-2024/

    excerpt:

The CNN panel praised Rose for her political acumen, and Jones said he would not be surprised if she had a political future.

“This person is super talented, OK? Like, this person knows how to speak plainly and directly, knows how to use the camera, the cadence of it,” CNN commentator Scott Jennings, a Republican strategist, said in response to Jones. “They got something there.”

Jones also praised the way she was able to speak to the American people through the camera, rather than feeling compelled to address a massive crowd, which can be less effective.

“In those big arenas, it’s hard not to want to fill up the room,” Jones said in a clip first highlighted by Mediaite. “But you’re not talking to the 30,000 people there, you’re talking to the 30 million people at home, and she was, I mean, she was the most effective.”

Here’s Why Morning Joe Was Absent From MSNBC on Monday

    excerpt:

"Morning Joe’s absence was from the airwaves was first reported by CNN, which stated that the decision was intended to prevent guests from potentially making an “inappropriate comment” about the shooting on-air. But an MSNBC spokesperson denies CNN’s reporting."

    Article from March 2024.

Trump said there would be an economic bloodbath while saying he's friends with Xi.

He coddled his rioters while saluting during the playing of the perverted version of the National Anthem sung by his violent rioters.

    He said immigrants aren't people.

He said Catholics were crazy if they voted for Biden.

Yet Graham and other GOP members say that the assassination attempt on Trump was because of Biden and the Democrats pointing out the dangers of Trump.

Trump says there will be a 'bloodbath' if he loses the election

    excerpt:

"Before he began speaking, the former president stood and saluted next to the lectern as “Justice for All,” by the “J6 choir” of inmates awaiting trial for their roles in the insurrection, played on the loudspeakers.

He again referred to the people who are in prison for crimes committed in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack as “hostages.”

“They’ve been treated terribly and very unfairly, and you know that, and everybody knows that,” Trump said at the beginning of his speech. “And we’re going to be working on that as soon as the first day we get into office. We’re going to save our country, and we’re going to work with the people to treat those unbelievable patriots.”

At the event, Trump also said that some undocumented immigrants were “not people,” although he added that he was “not allowed to say that because the radical left says it’s a terrible thing to say.” He also told Catholics not to vote for Biden.

“Any Catholic that votes for this numbskull is crazy, because you are being persecuted,” Trump said.

Biden is the second Roman Catholic ever to be elected president."

"they've been treated terribly and very unfairly, and you know that and everybody knows that." Yes sir --everybody knows that it's standard procedure to overthrow a presidential election. I mean--just everybody.

I PREDICT: Trump will pay nothing to anybody regardless of court decisions. Trump will win the presidency and completely change the world order including relations with all countries the US has had since after world war 2.

I don't find it surprising that so many citizens have "come out of the closet" for authoritarianism . Republicans were able to keep their worst impulses well under control over the decades until trump has shown them that it's quite all right to be sycophantic cult followers with all that entails. Their dreams can now be realized!!:cool:

Donald Duck is a con-artist, who knows damn well half the people he talks to still claim the sun revolves around the earth. Academics are sooooo stupid, despite half a century of evidence that a quarter of the entire world still claims the sun revolves around the earth, they wrote it off as a religious belief, and helped the Tea Party censor half of their own scientific reality.

Forget about the Duck, its academia that's now becoming the prime target of choice, ripe for exploitation! By their own students!

Academia only accounts for 5% of all research done, and are worthless now that they're being censored, and nobody cares about advanced degrees anymore, so, you might as well exploit them for every dime they have. I'm teaching AI how to automate their jobs faster, after cleaning out their bank accounts. Call it the American Way!

I was thinking to myself when a friend of mine sent this to me like it was really something worth listening to- all I could think of is how in the world is anything having any impact on her or her children- especially with a net worth of 12 million plus dollars, how can she rightfully speak for anyone?

In her dismissal of the documents case, Cannon repeatedly referred to the opinion of Clarence Thomas in the Supreme Court's ruling that gave Trump immunity, an opinion that went off course and said Jack Smith didn't have the authority to prosecute Trump in the documents case..

It shows how much influence Thomas can have on someone like Cannon.

Lawyer who drafted special counsel regs predicts fate of judge's 'cuckoo' tossing of Trump case

    excerpt:

“The Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, which will hear the promised appeal by Mr. Smith, has already swiftly rebuked Judge Cannon on two different matters for her decisions in the Trump case that were well out of mainstream thinking about the law,” Katyal wrote. “This decision is on the way to a third rebuke for her.”

In her order, Cannon said she reached the conclusions that Smith’s appointment and funding violated the Constitution after “careful study,” and she repeatedly cited Justice Clarence Thomas’ solo concurrence in Trump v. United States — the Supreme Court Jan. 6 immunity case — in which the conservative justice expressed concerns that “private citizen” Smith’s appointment ran afoul of the law.

Lawyer who drafted special counsel regs predicts fate of judge's 'cuckoo' tossing of Trump case

    excerpt:

Noting that challenges of special counsels’ authority have repeatedly flopped in the courts, perhaps most memorably during special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, Katyal recounted some legal history.

“I think the most important point about this, Christiane, is eight different judges over the last many years have rejected this exact argument,” Katyal said, including the Trump-appointed judge who presided over the felony gun trial of President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden. “And the special counsel regulations that Jack Smith is appointed under, I should say by way of disclosure to all of our viewers, I drafted those back in 1999 when I was a young Justice Department staffer in connection with the entire Justice Department.”
