There is something that can stop it. Trump and his attorneys.

Trump plans to block hearings in January 6 case before 2024 election

    excerpt:

"If prosecutors with the special counsel Jack Smith press for witnesses such as former vice-president Mike Pence or White House officials to testify, Trump’s lawyers are expected to launch a flurry of executive privilege and other measures to block their appearances, the people said.

The plans, which have not been previously reported, are aimed at having the triple effect of burying damaging testimony, making it harder for prosecutors to overcome the presumptive immunity for official acts, and injecting new delay into the case through protracted legal fights."

The conviction of Trump in the NY hush money case relied on words Trump said to Hope Hicks while he was president. Trump is now using this angle to try to have the conviction dismissed, citing that words he said to Hicks were official actions he took as president and can't be used against him.

Even if Trump eventually loses that type of argument, it's a new stall tactic at his disposal, courtesy the Supreme Court immunity ruling in July 2024.

If he had been blessed with a Supreme Court ruling granting him immunity, Nixon could have cited that his nefarious conversations with John Dean about Watergate while he was president had immunity (including Nixon's subsequent criminal attempts to use hush money to cover up the initial crime of the burglary, a burglary which itself couldn't be prosecuted in the first place had he been blessed with immunity by the Supreme Court). It is a hypothetical example similar to that of Trump who now claims that conversations he had with Hicks while he was president have immunity and can't be used in any criminal cases against him.

The Supreme Court immunity ruling opens up a vast array of endless legal maneuvers that a president or former president can use to stymie a criminal or civil case against him or his associates, the type of tactic Trump loves.

According to Maddow, every state of the seven battleground states in the 2020 election (AZ, NM, NV, WI, MI, PA, GA) has sent at least one of Trump's fake electors to the 2024 RNC convention to serve as a delegate to make Trump the nominee.

That includes indicted fake elector Nevada GOP Chair McDonald who officially declared at the 2024 RNC convention that Trump was the nominee.

So, I decided to try to watch a bit of his speech.....just for the historical experience of it all. However, I thought I'd better have some fortification so I poured myself two fingers of bourbon to keep me off the roof. He starts blathering on, I take a sip, he says after the shots rang out and he fell back, "he just felt serine.." I choked and coughed bourbon up my nose...gahhhh....it burns.....an omen....

    Add a few more.

... convicted felon, who is now a member of the mass shooting survivors club, who was injured and nearly killed by an AR-15 that his supporters in Congress support by wearing lapel pins of it, the one who is selling $299 sneakers with an image of his bloodied face on them, Donald Trump!

Length of Trump's 2024 RNC convention acceptance speech: 1:31:55

His speeches in general continue to lengthen, like other autocrats around the world throughout history who rant on and on.

Hulk Hogan introduced Trump and tore his own shirt off.

Trump’s Endless Speech, Hulk Hogan’s Shirt Rip, and Not Much Unity: RNC Recap

    excerpt:

"You know the tune. Trump’s acceptance speech, however it began, wound up echoing a convention that vowed the reversal of everything good or bad that the Biden administration did, to be replaced by the most ideologically extreme presidency ever, backed by a very united party that has a good chance of achieving control of the White House and both chambers of Congress. And it would be led by a chief executive who clearly wasn’t changed by his brush with death, but rather liberated by his apparent belief that the election is over, perhaps dictated by God Almighty himself. He was so liberated that one of the few people he directly quoted was Hungarian authoritarian strongman Viktor Orban."

Trump mentioned Hannibal Lecter again during his acceptance speech.

    Kid Rock was present.

Considering the way Trump has talked about women and made kinky remarks about his daughter Ivanka who he said he thought was hot during her teens, Don Jr. should be warning Trump to stay away from his daughter.

Rioter is sentenced to 40 months in prison.

    https://www.thestate.com/news/local/crime/article290202114.html

    excerpt:

"A federal judge sentenced a 31-year-old Oconee County man to 40 months in prison on Thursday for assaulting police officers during the Jan. 6 Capitol riots.

The violent actions of Thomas “Tommy” Casselman, an unemployed auto mechanic, beekeeper and supporter of former President Donald Trump, included spraying at least four Metropolitan Police officers with stinging bear spray, according to evidence in the case. The officers were trying to keep a mob from breaking into the Capitol.

The 40 months were exactly what federal prosecutor Katherine Boyles had asked U.S. Judge Dabney Friedrich, a Trump-appointed judge, to give Casselman."

SC man pleads guilty to wielding stolen police shield at Capitol riot.

    chevron-right

    excerpt:

"WASHINGTON, D.C. (WCIV) — South Carolina Man Pleads Guilty to two felony charges for using a stolen police riot shield during the Jan. 6 capitol breach.

The defendant, Tyler Bradley Dykes, 26, of Bluffton, South Carolina, reportedly used a riot shield against law enforcement protecting the capitol building. Dykes's actions and the actions of others disrupted a joint session of the U.S. Congress convened to count the electoral votes related to the 2020 presidential election.

He pleaded guilty and was charged with two felony counts of assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers and he also agreed that his use of a police riot shield constituted a dangerous weapon."

In spite of being convicted of 34 felony counts, convicted of financial fraud, convicted of defamation and civil rape, and trying to violently steal the 2020 election from the American people, Trump stands an even greater chance now of becoming president again because he is perceived as being an innocent victim of an assassination attempt, on top of having already portrayed himself as a victim of the justice system that is holding him accountable to the law.

Some of the mainstream media outlets that previously could be construed as being at least partially objective in their previous assessment of him that were sometimes critical are now rallying around him like he's a victim.

Trump thinks inflation is where it was at one to two years ago.

Trump says he'll end the "inflation nightmare." Economists say Trumponomics could drive up prices.

    excerpt:

"There's only one problem: Key policies that undergird so-called Trumponomics — a combination of tariffs, tax cuts and a crackdown on immigration — are likely to cause a flare-up in inflation, according to many Wall Street economists. That would be a painful outcome for consumers and businesses sapped by more than two years of surging prices. More broadly, renewed inflationary pressures would also come as inflation is finally inching closer to the Federal Reserve's goal of 2% per year.

But experts warn that Trump's economic policies could cause such progress to stall, and even reverse. They note that tariffs effectively act as a consumption tax, increasing the cost of goods imported into the U.S. — costs that businesses typically pass on to consumers.

Meanwhile, the sharp corporate tax cuts Trump has floated would act as an inflationary fiscal stimulus. And another central plank — deporting immigrants — could force employers to pay higher wages to attract a shrinking pool of workers, also adding to pricing pressures, economists told CBS MoneyWatch."

Tariffs are only going to effect you and I. China could care.

I can't wrap my head around it - I go from thinking this is bizarre human nature to wondering if it is a spiritual battle of unknown forces - and I tell myself to calm down and not get to radicalized... but, in all honesty - each thing this man has done, each statement that I think should be the end of his political career, it passes inspection and he sails through and all that is good is bad, and all that is bad is good.
