Trump court dates in September Trump faces critical court dates ahead of election - Washington Examiner
Trump said on Fox this week that his poll numbers went up when he was convicted of 34 felonies. Yet he wants to delay his sentencing in September, seemingly trying to avoid his poll numbers going down because of it.

It's not known if he will be sentenced for his 34 felony convictions in NY. A judge will decide, probably within a couple days of the hearing scheduled for September 18. Trump may wiggle out of another tough spot yet again. The scheduled sentencing had been for a few days before the start of the RNC convention in July. Trump managed to delay it until September because of the Supreme Court immunity ruling in early July.

Trump wants to first challenge Jack Smith's authority to be a special counsel for his federal election subversion case. Judge Cannon threw out the entire federal documents case against Trump after being triggered by Clarence Thomas (as an extraneous part of his opinion on the Supreme Court presidential immunity ruling) who said he thought Smith didn't have the authority to be a special counsel. After that, Trump wants to further challenge the federal election subversion case on the grounds of presidential immunity based on the Supreme Court presidential immunity ruling in July 2024. Trump will use the same tactics for the federal documents case against him.
Trump has received a great amount of assistance from Cannon and Thomas. Cannon played interference for Trump for nearly two years before dismissing the documents case altogether.

In the wake of the Supreme Court ruling granting Trump presidential immunity, Trump has greater liberty to admitting to crimes he committed as president. It's in the hands of the federal courts and likely the Supreme Court eventually to determine what constitutes 'official acts' of a president and the location of the 'outer perimeter' of a president's 'official acts'.
Jack Smith did a revised version of the federal election subversion case. He whittled down the evidence to try not to include what could be construed as official acts of a president. A grand jury separate from the first one indicted Trump all over again on the same four counts, even for the whittled down version. https://www.cnn.com/2024/08/27/poli...-jack-smith-donald-trump-january-6/index.html

Gala to honor Trump's rioters at Bedminster delayed again. Gala in honor of January 6 rioters at Trump’s Bedminster golf course postponed again excerpt: "The gala billed itself as a celebration of 20 defendants who formed a prison choir and recorded a song called "Justice For All", a version of the National Anthem featuring Trump's voice speaking the Pledge of Allegiance. The gala website says the event was also to pay tribute to “all J6 defendants who have shown incredible courage and sacrifice”. The big draw for the event, aside from a potential Trump appearance, was the chance to win a “Justice For All' Donald J Trump & J6 Prison Choir" plaque. The item celebrated the song's brief moment at the top of the Billboard Music Charts shortly after it was released.:"
Trump's rally locations show a pattern of sundown locations. Donald Trump faces backlash over rally locations: "Sundown towns" excerpt: "Howell, Michigan; La Crosse, Wisconsin; Johnstown, Pennsylvania," the man said in the video. "What do these places have in common? They're all sundown towns." "A sundown town is one that forbade Blacks, by ordinance or otherwise, to live in it. Many of these places, including Cullman, posted signs to the effect of 'Whites Only Within City Limits After Dark,' sometimes with far less sanitized language."
Trump sounds like a fiction book from decades ago about an absurd presidential candidate and his followers that are so crazy that no one could have ever imagined it. A former president, convicted felon, and current presidential candidate, holds a gala at his golf resort to praise his rioters he incited to overthrow his legitimate election loss and who tried to hang his VP who wouldn't cooperate with the overthrow, who the former president now says was treated viciously during a debate four years ago by his innocuous current competitor when she requested to the VP to be allowed her turn to talk.
When Trump describes the U.S. as supposedly being a third word country, he's correct about himself and his supporters and their antics. Trump is so outlandish that it's difficult to find third world countries with similar antics.
