Trump said during a campaign stop in CA on September 13, 2024 that there's a giant faucet the size of a wall of a building that if turned on would supply CA all of its water needs. Trump said that when he was president he had everything set to turn it on toward CA. He said Gavin Newsom turned it toward the Pacific.
Transcript of Trump CA press gathering on September 13, 2024. FULL TRANSCRIPT: Trump Press Conference in California excerpt: "And the reason you have no water — you have the canals. The reason you have no water is because Gavin Newsom didn’t want to do it. I had it all done. I had the Department of Commerce at the time, believe it or not. They’re the ones that rule on this particular issue. So you have millions of gallons of water pouring down from the north, with the snowcaps and Canada and — all pouring down. And they have a — essentially, a very large faucet. And you turn the faucet, and it takes one day to turn it. It’s massive. It’s as big as the wall of that building, right there, behind you. And you turn that, and all of that water goes into the — aimlessly into the Pacific. And if they turned it back, all of that water would come right down here and right into Los Angeles."
In a modern, rational society, Trump would be deemed to be mentally deranged by most of the population. But in the U.S., half the public believes him, so his mental derangement doesn't really matter that much.
Trump is still saying that Austria doesn't have forest fires because they manage their forest floors. He was making the same type of statement in September 2020 during the presidential race that Austria rakes its forest floors. Trump statement made on September 13, 2024. FULL TRANSCRIPT: Trump Press Conference in California excerpt: "I go to Austria. The head of Austria tells me, you know, we have trees that are much more flammable than what you have in California. We never have forest fires because they maintain their forests. And you have all that water that could be used to — that’s water — what they call water flow — where the war — you know, where the land would be damp. And you’d stop many of these horrible fires that are costing billions and billions of dollars by the federal government, et cetera."
FULL TRANSCRIPT: Trump Press Conference in California excerpt: "And based on the polls, it didn’t work because Rasmussen, as you probably saw, just came out and they just lifted me up by six points for president, which is one of the biggest increases they’ve ever had in one little short period of time of a couple of days, up six points."
Trump likes to cite Rasmussen polls. Rasmussen has a record of being highly slanted toward Trump. In March 2024, the FiveThirtyEight website stopped using Rasmussen because of it's slanted results.
Kamala Harris hits record polling lead over Donald Trump excerpt: "Kamala Harris has increased her polling lead over Donald Trump to record highs, according to the latest Morning Consult poll. The vice president is currently 6 percentage points ahead among likely voters, 51 percent to Trump's 45 percent, which is double the advantage she held before their debate on ABC last week."

I hope so. I'm a bit leery of the polls; the MSM has such a huge vested interest in it being a neck-and-neck horse race...and for the life of me it just beggars belief that 45% of my fellow countrymen are really that goddamned stupid. I wonder if it felt like this in Wiemar in 1933.
Weimar Republic - Wikipedia excerpt: "By the end of March 1933, the Reichstag Fire Decree and the Enabling Act of 1933 were used in the perceived state of emergency to effectively grant the new Chancellor broad power to act outside parliamentary control. Hitler promptly used these powers to thwart constitutional governance and suspend civil liberties, which brought about the swift collapse of democracy at the federal and state level, and the creation of a one-party dictatorship under his leadership."

Craig Nagy, a bakery owner who wore a T-shirt that read “JESUS IS MY SAVIOR TRUMP IS MY PRESIDENT,” said, “God knows what we need.” And not long after a song by the Michigan native Kid Rock blared through the arena bragged of being an “American Badass,” a man in Army fatigues knelt, raised the holy book in the air and prayed for Trump’s safety. “Because God’s got a plan,” said Tim Long, who said he is also a candidate for Wayne County commissioner. “God is giving the American people a choice.”

So, he plans to nationalize the US energy companies so we only pay half of what they could get for oil in the world market? Right. Isn't that the dreaded socialism ? The only way energy prices will collapse is if he plunges the world into a big recession like the pandemic. He'll be building new power plants that burn coal and dirty #6 oil that his increased production can't get rid of.
This must be why the right bans books and goes to war with education: they don't want their voters to understand the guy they're supporting is literally running Hitler's playbook.
“He (Trump) said, ‘Well, but Hitler did some good things.’ I (retired Marine Gen. John Kelly) said, ‘Well, what?’ And he said, ‘Well, [Hitler] rebuilt the economy.’ But what did he do with that rebuilt economy? He turned it against his own people and against the world. And I said, ‘Sir, you can never say anything good about the guy. Nothing,’” retired Marine Gen. John Kelly said. “It’s pretty hard to believe he missed the Holocaust, though, and pretty hard to understand how he missed the 400,000 American GIs that were killed in the European theater.” Kelly said Trump, the Republican Party’s presumptive 2024 nominee, admired the loyalty of Nazi leaders and generals to Hitler, aspiring to receive the same loyalty from the U.S. military’s highest ranking officers. “He would ask about the loyalty issues and about how, when I pointed out to him the German generals as a group were not loyal to him, and in fact tried to assassinate him a few times, and he didn’t know that,” Kelly said. “He truly believed, when he brought us generals in, that we would be loyal — that we would do anything he wanted us to do.” Trump was laudatory of Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, praise he has repeated publicly over the years and as recently as the last few months. “He views himself as a big guy,” Trump’s former national security adviser John Bolton told CNN. “He likes dealing with other big guys, and big guys like Erdogan in Turkey get to put people in jail and you don’t have to ask anybody’s permission. He kind of likes that.” Trump said Hitler ‘did some good things,’ former chief of staff says Ivana Trump and Steve Cohen said that Trump kept a copy of 'Mein Kampf" by his bedside. https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2023/12/18/donald-trump-campaign-rhetoric-cnc-vpx.cnn Trump boasted that he got to know “real” generals, unlike the U.S. military leaders who “want there to be woke.” (He didn’t explain what that meant.) “Are you going to fire those generals?” one of the (Fox News) co-hosts asked. “The woke generals at the top?” The presumptive GOP nominee replied, “Yes, I would get rid of them. Yeah. But see, now I know them. I didn’t know them before. But, you know, I came in, what do I know? I was a New York real estate person. But no, I’d fire. I would fire them. You can’t have woke military.” (Trump) apparently has more expansive plans for a second term, planning to fire U.S. military leaders who fail to meet his ideological standards.. a bedrock principle of the American experience is that we have an apolitical armed forces, filled with servicemembers who are loyal, not to an elected leader, but the U.S. Constitution. If Trump intends to politicize the military, filling the ranks with loyalists, it sets the stage for a dramatic and fundamental change in how the United States is supposed to operate. Why Trump’s vow to fire ‘woke’ U.S. generals matters

Trump is promising new tariff wars. He's still claiming that the Chinese are building electric vehicles in Mexico that will wreck the U.S. car industry. Trump pledges tariffs and repeats false claim of Chinese automakers building big Mexican factories excerpt: “If I don’t win, you will have no auto industry within two to three years,” Trump said, calling any increases under Biden and Harris temporary. “You will not have any manufacturing plants. China is going to take over all of them because of the electric car.”
Trump pledges tariffs and repeats false claim of Chinese automakers building big Mexican factories excerpt: "Auto jobs dipped 0.8% during Trump’s term to just over 949,000 in January 2021, when he left office, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Since Biden took office that month, auto and parts jobs rose 13.6% to 1.07 million in August, so there’s no evidence of the industry disappearing. Auto sales were up 2.4% in the first half of this year."
