Trump stated publicly this week that the eastern part of Ukraine has been destroyed by the war. He said it would take a hundred years to fix it.

It gives the impression that Trump thinks the Ukraine land in the east taken by Putin isn't even worth Ukraine wanting it back from Putin.

Trump relishes wielding power without responsibility.

    https://www.cnn.com/2024/12/17/politics/trump-honeymoon-analysis/index.html

    excerpts:

“In this term, everybody wants to be my friend,” the president-elect said at his Mar-a-Lago resort Monday, relishing the outpouring of deference from foreign leaders, CEOs and Republican powerbrokers as he readies his second term.

“This will be the most exciting and successful period of reform and renewal in all of American history, maybe of global history. The Golden Age of America, I call it. It’s begun,” he said.

    excerpt:

"Apart from the early loss of Matt Gaetz, the president-elect’s first pick for attorney general, things could hardly have gone better so far. The world’s richest man, Elon Musk, is his new pal. Most of his provocative Cabinet picks look likely to be confirmed by pliant Republican senators. Tech industry leaders, meanwhile, are rushing to court him at Mar-a-Lago and to fill the coffers of his inaugural account."

So now it's just a matter of trying to prove to the Senate that RFK, Jr. is only 98% as bat-shit irrational as people know he is. That will convince Republicans in the Senate that he's qualified to be the secretary of Health and Human Services.

Likewise, Hegseth simply has to convince the Senate that he will stop drinking alcohol if he becomes the Secretary of Defense, even though he's highly unqualified for the position.

Kash Patel has a good chance of becoming the head of the FBI during Trump's second term. Pam Bondi of FL will likely be confirmed as Attorney General.

Cheney and others like her who promoted the rule of law could be put into turmoil by Patel who feels that he and Trump are above the rule of law.

Trump was twice convicted of criminal contempt of court during his hush money trial. Nine counts during April 2024 and one count in May 2024.

He violated the court regardless of whether or not he was found guilty in the case (he was eventually found guilty of 34 felony counts).

    Article from April 2024.

Trump was also cited for contempt in a civil case for failing to comply with a subpoena from AG James in Trump civil financial fraud case..

He appealed it and lost in Feb. 2023.

Trump lost $110,000 because of fines imposed on him.

What Trump could do on day one in the White House

    excerpt:

"I'm a big believer in tariffs. I think tariffs are the most beautiful word. I think they're beautiful. It's going to make us rich," the Republican said on Meet the Press.

Trump's highly flattering and extreme loyalist Bobb was indicted in 2024 in the AZ election subversion case.

    Christina Bobb - Wikipedia

    excerpt:

"On April 24, 2024, Bobb and seventeen others were indicted on nine felony counts each of fraud, forgery and conspiracy in connection with the 2020 Arizona fake electors plot that attempted to reverse Trump's 2020 presidential election loss in Arizona.[21][22][23] On May 21, 2024, Bobb and 10 others pled not guilty after being arraigned in Maricopa County Superior Court.[24][25] However, Bobb was among five of these eleven defendants who appeared virtually rather than in-person.[24]"

Trump is already delivering on his promise to go after the press

    excerpt:

He has threatened to throw journalists in jail and investigate news organizations for treason. He has proposed revoking broadcast licenses held by TV companies when he disagrees with their coverage. His pick for FBI director, Kash Patel, has vowed a campaign of retribution against the press.

“We’re going to come after the people in the media who lied about American citizens, who helped Joe Biden rig presidential elections,” Patel said on a podcast last year. “Whether it’s criminally or civilly, we’ll figure that out.”

Trump says he feels compelled to file lawsuits against the press.

Trump is already delivering on his promise to go after the press

    excerpt:

“I feel I have to do this,” Trump said in a press conference at Mar-a-Lago. “I shouldn’t really be the one to do it. It should have been the Justice Department or somebody else. I have to do it. It costs a lot of money to do it. We have to straighten out the press.”
