Trump Vowed to End the Ukraine War Before Taking Office. The War Rages On.

    excerpt:

“Before I even arrive at the Oval Office, shortly after we win the presidency, I will have the horrible war between Russia and Ukraine settled,” Mr. Trump vowed in a June rally. “I will get it settled before I even become president,” he said during his televised debate with Vice President Kamala Harris in September. “I will settle Russia-Ukraine while I’m president-elect,” he said again during a podcast in October.

If Ramaswamy runs for governor of Ohio, he wlll probably exit DOGE.

That leaves Elon Musk in charge of DOGE to try to do budget cuts.

As a millennial and a Black man, I think my generation will regret deserting Joe Biden | Opinion

    excerpt:

“In 2020, 89% of Black voters aged 18-29 voted for Biden, as well as 78% of those aged 30-44, “ wrote National Public Radio last June, roughly a month before Biden stepped aside and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to be the Democratic presidential nominee.

“In the latest GenForward survey, just 33% said they would support him if the election were held today.”

Among the reasons that I’ve heard, it appears that his being a white man with privilege was a big infraction. Trump isn’t white and privileged?

As a millennial and a Black man, I think my generation will regret deserting Joe Biden | Opinion

    excerpt:

"According to Bloomberg, the number of people who gained access to healthcare soared to more than 21 million and under Biden’s watch, the number of uninsured Americans dropped below 8%, a record.

Biden helped more than 5 million Americans get their student loans forgiven. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, union membership has increased 412,000 since 2021.

Biden was the first American president to walk a picket line when he joined General Motors workers in Michigan last September.

Coming out of the darkest days of the pandemic, Biden enacted the American Rescue Plan, a $1.9 trillion economic stimulus that helped government and non-government workers and their families."

As expected, that's what Trump did.

Trump pledges a series of Day 1 executive actions to end 'four long years of American decline'

    excerpt:

"In an unusual move, Trump entered at the arena’s concourse level and deliberately made his way down the stairs before his speech, stopping frequently to pump his fist and pose for pictures with rallygoers. It was even more surreal after he finished speaking, when the Village People took the stage and the president-elect sang — and even briefly danced — along to “YMCA,” an unofficial anthem of his campaign."

To end Birthright Citizenship would require changing the Constitution. It's not as simple as just getting the House and Senate to go along. To actually change the constitution requires that 38 of the 50 states' legislature also approve. If 13 states, or more, reject the change, it becomes discarded.
Most likely states to reject the change: (18) California, Oregon, Washington, New Mexico, Kansas, Wisconsin, New York, Massachusetts, Colorado, Rhode Island, Maine, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland.

Trump will try to abolish birthright citizenship by reinterpreting a particular phrase in the 14th Amendment. It will be a lengthy battle in court and could end up in the U.S. Supreme Court which could potentially reinterpret phrases in the 14th Amendment.

The U.S. Supreme Court gave Trump presidential immunity without even interpreting anything in the Constitution itself. It selectively used partial quotes by George Washington and phrases from The Federalist Papers to make new Constitutional law, such as saying that the presidency needs to be vibrant and not hindered by the prospect of being held accountable by the justice system. It essentially removed the justice system, a part of the balance of powers, to supposedly protect the balance of powers. It also bypassed Congress. A more appropriate remedy would have been for the Supreme Court to hand the issue to Congress to enact new Constitutional law to be interpreted later by the Supreme Court if needed.

Trump could use other tactics in the mean time, such as trying to cripple U.S. citizens by withholding government-issued privileges, such as birth certificates, social security cards and visas, to people who he deems are not U.S. citizens. He and his associates like Stephen Miller will be examining all the ways they can cripple U.S. citizens.

    Trump snubs firefighters.

Trump, in his inaugural address, rips into the country's past leaders and makes sweeping promises

    excerpt:

"Trump’s lament about the state of the nation included disbelief that the fires around Los Angeles were still burning “without a token defense.”

That’s false. Firefighters have been battling the blazes since they erupted and have made significant progress. The Eaton fire is 87% contained, and the Palisades fire 59% contained, according to CalFire."

Trump portrayed himself as endowed by God Almighty to be a national and world savior.

And also a dancer with the Village People.

Trump, in his inaugural address, rips into the country's past leaders and makes sweeping promises

    excerpt:

"The shooter was an apparently disturbed local 20-year-old man who had no documented ties to the Biden administration, the federal government or any other opponents Trump has criticized.

Trump then used striking language to explain how he survived. “I was saved by God to make America great again,” Trump said to applause."

The Trump blitz of executive orders is being called the Omnibus executive order. A hundred executive orders on a large stack of papers where Trump has to sign his name only once or a few times.

Even easier: In Trump's mind, all he has to do is just 'think about it' and it's been officially implemented.

It's a bizarre feature of Trump and the public support for him.

People vehemently reject a politician who they perceive as having only a small slice of the negative attributes of Trump, such as being white and privileged. Yet they will vote for someone like Trump, the epitomy of white and priveleged, to vent their frustrations on someone like Biden.

Trump's embrace of working class pop culture such as promoting big time wrestling and the Village People seems to shield himself from hard feelings people would have otherwise had about him being white and privileged. He also promotes a bigotry that resonates with people that overrides other needs, even financial ones.

It's like the old 'Remembering Reagan' cartoon that shows a working class person saying that Reagan crushed workers rights but also saying warmly that he was a guy you could sit down and have a beer with.

The U.S. Supreme Court took that approach for the issue of whether states could keep Trump off their ballots because of his being part of an insurrection. It said the issue was for Congress to decide, which was favorable to Trump because he could remain on all state ballots before Congress could act on the issue in time for the 2024 election. It was an easy way out for the Supreme Court.

Yet when it came to presidential immunity, a forminable and wide-ranging issue amenable to being handled definitively by Congress, the Supreme Court fabricated its own law and left Congress out.
