Trump says he will withhold federal money from Maine because a transgender high schooler is participating in sports.

Maine under Title IX investigation after Trump's fiery exchange with governor over trans inclusion in sports

    excerpt:

"The letter also notifies MDOE that OCR is launching an investigation into Maine School Administrative District #51 (MSAD #51), after it was reported that Greely High School, a school under its jurisdiction, is continuing to allow at least one male student to compete in girls’ categories.

Trump and Maine's governor, Janet Mills, clashed over transgender women in sports on Friday, with Trump telling her at the White House that she must follow his executive order, or "you're not going to get any federal funding," to which she replied, "We’ll see you in court."

"I'm complying with state and federal laws," Mills said, before Trump said, "Well, we are the federal law," and "you better do it, you better do it, because you're not going to get any federal funding at all if you don't."

Trump spends 75 minutes at CPAC talking about himself.

Party of one: Donald Trump’s 75 minutes at CPAC talking about himself

    excerpt:

"God save the king. Drunk on power, Donald Trump spent Saturday afternoon before adoring fans, boasting of his victories, taunting his enemies and casting himself as America’s absolute monarch, supreme leader and divine emperor rolled into one."

Trump is turning off 8,000 EV charging stations across the country.

He's also offloading newly purchased EVs. Their fate remains unclear.

Trump Is Turning Off All 8,000 EV Chargers at All Federal Government Buildings

    excerpt:

"Electric vehicles are “not mission critical,” said the Trump administration, which has ordered all EV chargers located at federal buildings to be shut down nationwide and newly purchased EVs to be offloaded. This comes on the heels of pausing already-promised EV infrastructure funding.

The U.S. General Services Administration, or GSA, is the federal agency responsible for contracts and procurement as they relate to the government’s real estate, IT, products, and equipment, which includes vehicles. According to The Verge, there are several hundred charging stations managed by the GSA, which amounts to roughly 8,000 charging ports across the country. And they now they’re going to be turned off."

Musk has made himself boss of all federal workers.

Musk says federal workers must document their work or resign.

DOGE's Elon Musk says federal employees must document their work or resign

    excerpts:

"Federal workers will have to document everything they did last week or face resignation.

These instructions come from a Saturday afternoon post on X by Elon Musk, the head of the White House's Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE.

CBS News learned that federal workers received an email that read, "what did you do last week." They were instructed to reply with five bullet points of what they had accomplished in the last week, excluding any classified information.

The deadline to reply was by Monday at midnight."

"Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation," Musk added.

That's about 4.5 million workers. Half are in the military and half of the federal civil workers are related to the military.

The way it's looking, if any federal workers didn't work in the past week, they will have to submit to Musk a note from their mother.

Trump Is Turning Off All 8,000 EV Chargers at All Federal Government Buildings

    excerpt:

"The first thing you see on the GSA website is its motto: “Delivering effective and efficient government services for the American people.” However, given that there’ll be 8,000 fewer chargers for thousands of existing government-issued EVs that could now be stranded or see increased costs, the GSA seems to be doing the opposite."

Trump fires workers at NIH's Alzheimer's research center.

Trump administration fires workers at NIH's Alzheimer's research center, including incoming director

    excerpt:

"As President Donald Trump directs cuts of tens of thousands of federal government employees, among those laid off at America's health agencies are workers at a National Institutes of Health department focused on dementia research, including its incoming leader, three people familiar with the terminations told ABC News.

The firings at the Center for Alzheimer's and Related Dementias (CARD) affected roughly a tenth of the nearly 100 employees at the center, but in interviews with ABC News, workers there described a carefully woven web of collaboration that they say could be threatened by the layoffs of just a handful of employees, warning that it could jeopardize progress in answering key questions about dementia."

Trump administration fires workers at NIH's Alzheimer's research center, including incoming director

    excerpt:

"Newly confirmed Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. advocated vast shakeups at the department, specifically laying out plans on the campaign trail to cut hundreds from the NIH, which he said should shift its focus away from infectious diseases toward chronic diseases.

"We need to act fast, and we want to have those people in place on Jan. 20 so that on Jan. 21, 600 people are going to walk into offices at NIH and 600 people are going to leave," Kennedy said in November, speaking at the Genius Network Annual Event in Scottsdale, Arizona."

Trump is trying to injure the ACA by severely cutting funding for ACA navigator.

Trump still upset about Obama starting the ACA and upset that McCain didn't vote for the repeal of it.

Trump administration slashes funding for ACA navigators

    excerpt:

"President Donald Trump eviscerated funding for navigators during his initial term as president, cutting funding from $63 million to $36 million in 2017 before further lowering it to just $10 million in later years.

The cuts resulted in layoffs and stymied outreach initiatives among navigators, community groups that receive federal grants to educate consumers about their health insurance options on the ACA exchanges.

However, funding was later restored by President Joe Biden, which — along with more generous subsidies for ACA plans — spurred record sign-ups in the exchanges. Enrollment in ACA coverage surpassed 24 million individuals this year."

Sources say Trump will make Kash Patel acting director of ATF.

Trump expected to name Kash Patel as acting ATF director: Sources

    excerpt:

The move comes after Attorney General Pam Bondi fired the ATF's general counsel, Pamela Hicks, late last week. Bondi said in an interview with Fox News on Friday that it was because the agency's lead lawyer was "targeting gun owners."

Musk is firing federal workers with provisional status, which means those with less than about a year on the job or those who recently received a promotion. It's an easy target to hit.

The size of Donald Trump's 2024 election victory, explained in 5 charts

    excerpt:

“Trump’s victory was solid and convincing,” said Barry Burden, a University of Wisconsin political scientist. Still, “the 2024 elections were not a general endorsement of the Republican Party. Many Republicans down ballot did not perform as well as Trump.”

So far this century, elections have been not only close, but have flipped back and forth between the parties. Since 2000, control of the presidency, the Senate or the House has flipped 16 times in 13 election cycles.

If this pattern holds, the Democrats could be well positioned for the 2026 midterms and perhaps the 2028 presidential race.

Trump is furious after various polls show support for him dropping.

However great Trump's thinks his 2024 election win was, the polls are showing what people think of him now.

Trump Blows Up After Onslaught of Devastating Polls

    excerpt:

"I won the Presidential Election in a landslide, won ALL SEVEN SWING STATES, THE POPULAR VOTE, AND ALL FIFTY STATES SHIFTED REPUBLICAN, a record, and now I have the best polling numbers I’ve ever had,” Trump wrote on Truth Social Friday, seemingly in response to the news this week. “The Democrats, run by broken down losers like James Carville, whose weak of mind and body, are going crazy, and just don’t know what to do. They have lost their confidence and spirit - They have lost their minds! We are going to have big WINS for our Country, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. It’s already happening, and will get bigger and better than ever before!”

Trump says he's had it with Zelensky because Ukraine is being decimated by Putin, who Trump thinks was forced to invade Ukraine because Zelensky didn't make a deal with him.

Trump hasn't elaborated on the supposed deal that supposedly would have prevented Putin's invasion that Trump thinks is justified.

Trump says he's 'sick' of how Zelenskyy has handled Ukraine's war with Russia: 'He has no cards'

    excerpt:

“I’ve been watching this man for years now, as his cities get demolished, as his people get killed, as the soldiers get decimated,” Trump said on Fox News Radio’s “The Brian Kilmeade Show” on Friday morning. “I’ve been watching for years, and I’ve been watching him negotiate with no cards. He has no cards, and you get sick of it. You just get sick of it. And I’ve had it.”

Musk's boasts about supposed DOGE savings in GA are due to the death of Jimmy Carter.

The cost decrease was due to the ending of a government lease in GA this week stemming from Carter's death.

    https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/do...rders-cabinet-expands-live-updates-rcna193104

    excerpt:

"The three most closely watched U.S. stock indices are now down since Trump's inauguration on Jan. 20.

The broad-based S&P 500 and the 30-stock Dow Jones Industrial Average both fell more than 1% today, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite slipped more than 2%. It was the Dow's worst day of the year.

A combination of factors weighed on stocks, reflecting concerns about potential Trump policy risks to the economy. Yesterday, Walmart, the nation's biggest retail and grocery chain, forecast weaker sales growth than Wall Street had been hoping for — and said it wouldn't be "immune" to tariffs. Today, the University of Michigan's consumer sentiment reading fell to 64.7 for February from 71.7 last month due in large part to concerns about U.S. tariffs adding to already-stubborn inflation."
