Next time it might be a disgruntled former government employee fired by Musk who has miles of opportunity to take a shot.

Trump says Republican Rep. Massie of KY should be primaried out of existence for a no-vote on Trump's funding plan.

Trump pledges to 'lead the charge' against Rep. Massie, likens him to Liz Cheney

"Congressman Thomas Massie, of beautiful Kentucky, is an automatic ‘NO’ vote on just about everything, despite the fact that he has always voted for Continuing Resolutions in the past. HE SHOULD BE PRIMARIED, and I will lead the charge against him. He’s just another GRANDSTANDER, who’s too much trouble, and not worth the fight. He reminds me of Liz Chaney(sic) before her historic, record breaking fall (loss!). The people of Kentucky won’t stand for it, just watch. DO I HAVE ANY TAKERS???" Trump wrote in the post.

Trump's buddy Duterte has been arrested in connection with his drug crackdown.

Philippines’ Ex-President Duterte Arrested Under I.C.C. Warrant

    exceprt:

Rodrigo Duterte, the former president of the Philippines, was arrested on Tuesday in Manila, after the International Criminal Court issued a warrant accusing him of crimes against humanity in his war on drugs in which, human rights groups say, tens of thousands of Filipinos were summarily executed.

Trump is expected to portray Duterte as the victim who is being treated so unfairly.

Federal judge blocks Trump administration from deporting pro-Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil

    excerpt:

    "What U.S. law says

While U.S. law forbids anyone from providing “material support or resources” to terrorist organizations, a designation given to Hamas by the State Department in 1997, Khalil is not accused of doing that, and has not as yet been charged with any specific crime.

In a statement posted to X, the social media platform owned by Trump adviser Elon Musk, the Department of Homeland Security said that “Khalil led activities aligned to Hamas, a designated terrorist organization.”

The First Amendment to the Constitution guarantees the freedom of speech and the “right of the people peaceably to assemble.”

The U.S. government can revoke permanent resident status for a number of reasons, including for criminal conviction of some crimes. Since Khalil has yet to be charged with a crime, much less convicted of one, it’s unclear whether a court would side with the Trump administration in this case."

Ontario slaps 25% surcharge onto electricity exports.

Ontario slaps 25% tax increase on electricity exports to US in response to Trump's trade war

    excerpt:

TORONTO (AP) — Ontario's premier, the leader of Canada’s most populous province, announced that effective Monday it is charging 25% more for electricity to 1.5 million American homes and businesses in response to U.S. President Donald Trump's trade war.

Ontario provides electricity to Minnesota, New York and Michigan.

“I will not hesitate to increase this charge. If the United States escalates, I will not hesitate to shut the electricity off completely,” Ontario Premier Doug Ford said at a news conference in Toronto.

Judge blocks removal of Palestinian activist who was detained at Columbia University

    excerpt:

"The arrest occurred just days after Trump took to social media threatening to defund universities that allowed "illegal protests" and claiming "agitators" will be sent back to their home countries.

"All Federal Funding will STOP for any College, School, or University that allows illegal protests. Agitators will be imprisoned/or permanently sent back to the country from which they came. American students will be permanently expelled or, depending on on [sic] the crime, arrested. NO MASKS! Thank you for your attention to this matter," Trump posted on Truth Social on March 4."

Judge blocks removal of Palestinian activist who was detained at Columbia University

    excerpt:

"Four people in plainclothes who approached them and identified themselves as being with the Department of Homeland Security said they were there to take Khalil into custody, but also at one point allegedly threatened to arrest his wife, a U.S. citizen, according to the filing.

Khalil's wife went upstairs to retrieve his immigration documents that showed he's a lawful permanent resident, which appeared to surprise the agents, according to the filing.

"She handed the documents to the agent, who was talking to someone on the phone. The agent looked confused when he saw the documents and said, 'He has a green card,'" the document stated.

However, the agents still proceeded to detain Khalil and did not give his wife "any information at all as to how to find out where her husband will be taken, on what grounds, or who she can contact," the filing stated."

    excerpt:

"Trump has claimed that he wants to hire federal employees who are qualified, but his own appointees prove that the president isn’t willing to put federal money where his mouth is. Meanwhile, millions of hardworking Americans that Trump claims he’ll protect are seeing their jobs evaporate overnight, and except where nukes are concerned, the cuts will continue."

Trump wants merit-based society, so he appoints people with no merit.

    excerpt:

"Tne of his most hotly contested choices was Robert F. Kennedy, was tapped to lead the Department of Health and Human Services. A conspiracy theorist who believes that vaccines cause autism and suggested that tap water turns kids gay, Kennedy was met with pushback from Democrats, and even ruffled a few Republican feathers. Breaking from party lines, GOP Senator Mitch McConnell voted against Kennedy’s confirmation, citing the candidate’s vaccine skepticism (and his own bout with polio as a child) reasons to reject Kennedy’s appointment to America’s top health position."
