Trump said his second term would be the 'golden era'.

In terms of people turning to gold for security and the rising gold prices, he was right.

Trump will probably say it's another 'win' for him, that gold prices have never been so astronomically high during any other administration.

Fox will run a story claiming high gold prices are yet another 'win' for Trump and ask why Democrats still hate him in spite of all those 'wins'.

Mob bosses and other career criminals have 'winning' streaks. That doesn't mean that it should be applauded.

But for Trump and his followers, that's the perception because of his shallow, zero-sum, winners-losers mentality.

Trump 'won' the 'water wars' in California by senselessy dumping billions of gallons of water from dams that didn't help extinguish wildfires and that farmers needed for the upcoming growing season.

Trump and his faithful still think it's a 'win'.

Trump signing the budget bill that cuts $1 trillion of Medicaid and cuts food stamps that will cripple lower income people who need it is supposedly another 'win' for him and the country.

The injury because of it won't be felt fully until after the 2026 midterm elections when the cuts are implemented fully. People will lose benefits, lose health insurance, and they will see hospitals shut down that were already having difficulty staying open before the Medicaid cuts. It will likely effect facilities in rural areas significantly that operate on slim margins, the heart of Trump country.

On top of that, add the injury to the rural farm areas because of Trump's ongoing trade wars and Miller's massive campaign of deporting people who work on farms and in various other sectors.

Trump could reduce his following to living in a cardboard box, and yet some would still have a poster of his face and a Make America Great Again logo on their box.

Some would also still be criticizing people for pointing out the fact, even if it was made in the most objective and benign manner, and nitpicking some minutia of a critical remark that was made about him.

That type of behavior keeps cropping up. People who seemed to finally be breaking free from the tentacles of Trump, such as after the Jan. 6 riot, end up returning to him and defending him by nitpicking some talking point about the riot or other issue after they didn't like hearing a remark that came from a Trump critic.

People should be much more concerned about their own welfare than being upset about the way a messenger gave the bad news to them and using that as a reason to go back to the abuser yet again.

There are areas here that are a two hour drive to the nearest ER outpost since the few rural hospitals shut down. If you have a heart attack, it will be see you later. Their answer is a $50,000 medivac ride....after it takes half an hour for a rural volunteer ambulance to get there....and another hour for the medivac to pick you up...if you survive.

These are facts that some of Trump's enthusiasts on forums don't understand.

During the Covid pandemic, people had to be transported at high cost to hospitals because of the overcrowding due to the shear number of cases, even in areas where hospitals weren't as scarce as they are in rural areas. In many cases, the insurance didn't cover the costs of such transportation. It was done because the person was in critical condition, needed to be transported quickly, and the transport company that was used wasn't within the network of the insurance policy (assuming the person even had insurance). Someone could end up with a $60,000 bill just for the helicopter ride.

Trump's supporters were on the forums making remarks defending his bungled handling of the pandemic such as, "What's the problem? The hospitals are only at 98% capacity on average. That still leaves 2% which is plenty."

There you go with your tRump derangement syndrome again. Funny, I think it means just the opposite of what it does.
