Republicans are changing their tune on immigration: poll excerpt: "A new poll from Gallup Friday shows a steep drop among Republicans wanting immigration levels into the U.S. decreased – falling from 88 percent in 2024 down to 48 percent in June. The same survey showed an uptick in Republicans who see immigration as having a positive effect on the U.S."
Trump manosphere support deteriorating. The 'Manosphere' starts to turn on Trump excerpt: "A growing number of influential podcasters and pundits in the so-called manosphere are breaking with Trump, citing frustration over his immigration policies, broken promises, and the administration's handling of the Jeffrey Epstein revelations. Rogan, arguably the most prominent among them, and whose endorsement some analysts credit with boosting Trump's re-election, has repeatedly slammed Trump's immigration agenda. He called the administration's ICE raids "insane," saying they targeted "construction workers and gardeners" instead of criminals."
Republicans are changing their tune on immigration: poll excerpt: "More Americans also indicated that they viewed immigration as having a positive effect on the country, hitting 79 percent in June. Among Democrats, the number was at 91 percent, while for Republicans the number jumped from 39 percent last year to 64 percent this year."
Immigrant-bashing may have seemed more acceptable during the 2024 campaign when patriotic stupor was at its peak. People are currently seeing the reality of what they wished and it isn't so pleasant. Trump did say many times during the 2024 campaign that he would implemet a massive deportation effort. The public can't say that it wasn't informed about it.
In an episode of the TV show Happy Days, Ralph requested that the 'You Wanted To See it' TV show do a human sacrifice. It turned out that the show arranged Fonzie to jump his motorcycle over cars. When Ralph found out, he said that he didn't want to see Fonzie sacrificed. He just wanted to see an ordinary human sacrifice. It's symbolic of a mentality of wanting it to happen to someone else. Republicans were happy about the prospect of deporting immigrants during the 2024 campaign. Now that it's happening in massive numbers and to family members and workers of Republicans, it isn't enjoyable anymore. The recent Gallup poll seems to be reflecting the change in attitude.

Cannabis farmworker in California dies day after chaotic federal immigration raid excerpt: Officers pepper-sprayed a disabled U.S. Army veteran who served in Iraq and works as a security guard at the facility, the man's wife told NBC News. George Retes complied with federal officers when he arrived to check on friends and colleagues who might have been affected by the raids, she said, but instead he was arrested on suspicion of assault, according to immigration officials. A hearing is scheduled Monday. “He wasn’t even a protester,” Guadalupe Torres said of her husband. “They smashed his window, and after they smashed his window, they pepper-sprayed him.”
https://www.politico.com/news/2025/07/11/white-house-investigation-powell-trump-rates-00449789 excerpt: “I think the strategy is to put more pressure on Jay,” Alvarez said, referring to Powell. “Anything that makes him uncomfortable, anything that the administration can do to beat him up, I think they feel like that’s going to get him to soften his position on inflation and lower rates sooner — or get fed up and leave.”
Maybe Trump could underhandedly organize a group of rioters to attack Powell and force him to leave, or, at the very least, force him to lower interest rates.
Trump doesn't know again. Senate moves to rein in Trump administration’s fluctuating Ukraine policy excerpt: Pressed on who had authorized the pause in military aid, Trump appeared unsure. "I don’t know, why don’t you tell me?" he said Wednesday. According to The Wall Street Journal, Trump told Zelenskyy he was not responsible for the decision. On Thursday, when a reporter asked whether he’d figured out who ordered the halt, Trump replied, "Well, I haven’t thought about it. ... I have, no I have not gone into it."
Trump offers new program for migrant workers after facing backlash from farmers excerpt: "The Trump administration is launching a new visa program for migrant workers as farmers and hotel owners express concerns that their labor force is being threatened by the president’s mass deportation raids. The Department of Labor’s newly-created Office of Immigration Policy will help fast track visas for foreign laborers — but the administration has made it clear that the initiative is “not amnesty” for illegal migrant workers, a senior administration official told Axios."
ICE Is So Out of Control, They Tried to Raid a Kids’ Baseball Practice excerpt: "Wilder said the officers identified themselves as ICE agents, were armed with guns and tasers, and had “ICE” printed across the front of their tactical vests. The coach—who received his master’s degree in law—told the kids that they didn’t need to answer the agents’ questions, instructing them to instead line up on the opposite side of the batting cages. But ICE didn’t like that: Wilder said that’s when one of the agents raised their voice at him, accusing him of being a “YouTube lawyer.” “I said no, I just know how the Constitution works,” Wilder told Eyewitness News. But the agents continued to threaten him, per Wilder, talking about cuffing the coach and openly questioning what the kids would “have to lose by answering” if they were in the U.S. legally. “I told them that they still have their Fifth and Fourth Amendment rights, and that they don’t have to speak to you or help with any investigation,” Wilder told the Rag."
Federal judge temporarily halts alleged indiscriminate immigration stops excerpt: "A federal judge on Friday temporarily blocked the Trump administration from carrying out what advocates allege are unlawful stops and arrests that have terrorized Angelenos, forced some immigrants into hiding and damaged the local economy."
In his first term Trump said to Jared Kushner, when he found out about his cancer, unbeknownst to Kushner, "I'm the president. I know everything." This week, Trump tells a reporter to tell him why someone in the Pentagon stopped weapons shipments to Ukraine without him knowing about it.
That dumb remark by Trump this week sounds like ones he made during his first term when he said he didn't bother vetting incoming officials and instead outsourced it to reporters, supposedly to save time and money.
Trump grants 'total authorization' to ICE agents to protect themselves after violent California clashes excerpt: "President Donald Trump on Friday said he has given federal immigration agents "Total Authorization" to protect themselves after clashes with protesters during an enforcement operation at a California cannabis farm."
