Also, Americans' continued dissatisfaction with their own economic situation will outlast whatever joy they got seeing Trump stick it to people and groups they didn't like (fired federal workers, deported immigrants, dismantled Education Department, NWS, NOAA, FEMA, USAID, etc, whose destruction they didn't realize at the time would make their own economic situation even worse).

Loomer rebuts Trump's claim that Epstein is just a meaningless hoax.

    https://www.politico.com/news/2025/07/16/trump-epstein-maga-anger-00456207

    excerpt:

“Obviously, this is not a complete hoax given the fact that Ghislaine Maxwell is currently serving 20 years in prison in Florida for her crimes and activities with Jeffrey Epstein, who we know is a convicted sexual predator,” Loomer told POLITICO. “This is why I said, and I’ll reiterate it again, the best thing that the president can do is appoint a special counsel to handle the Epstein files investigation.”

Lifetime conspiracy-truther D'Souza is siding with Trump on Epstein.

Opinion | Trump told MAGA to be quiet about Jeffrey Epstein. Fox News obeyed.

    excerpt:

But those cases seem like the exceptions — in general, MAGA commentators have either gone silent like Fox News or are publicly championing the Trump line.

“Is it time to move on from the Jeffrey Epstein case?” asked podcaster Dinesh D’Souza. “I want to argue the answer is yes.”

“I’m going to just have to defer to President Trump on this thing,” Newsmax’s Greg Kelly offered.

“I’m done talking about Epstein for the time being,” Kirk said Monday. “I’m gonna trust my friends in the administration” (though on Tuesday, Kirk claimed, “When I said ‘for the time being,’ I was talking yesterday”).

Secret courts, secret police, secret charges, secret deportations, secret facilities. The administration is building a parallel “justice” system for immigrants where everything is hidden from those it targets, where everyone colludes to facilitate illegal, swift, and brutal incarcerations and deportations with absolute zero due process. It’s the farthest thing from justice imaginable.
Trump goons take another step toward creating a secret police force

They've budgeted $175 billion to fund ICE through the next fiscal year; that's $25 billion more than Russia's total annual military budget. They've budgeted $45 billion to construct a gulag of private, for-profit concentration camps nationwide modeled on "Alligator Auschwitz". Once they've rounded up and deported the 42% of America's agricultural workforce and 40% of America's construction workforce that are undocumented (who collectively pay $900 billion in taxes, or were before they were deported), do you really think that they'll simply stop there; that the mercenaries and private prison industry and their whores in Congress (no offense to prostitutes) are going to allow that infrastructure and all those highly profitable capitol assets to go underutilized? They're already explicitly threatening habeas corpus, and speculating openly about revoking American citizenship.
Fascist regimes always have a scapegoat to demonize, and they're always the most powerless and marginalized. Once they run out of Latinos to persecute, who's next?
    Niemöller was right.

More immigration judges are being fired amid Trump's efforts to speed up deportations

    https://www.npr.org/2025/07/14/nx-s1-5467343/immigration-judges-doj-trump-enforcement

    excerpt:

"It's outrageous and against the public interest that at a time when the Congress has authorized 800 immigration judges, we are firing large numbers of immigration judges without cause," said Matt Biggs, president of the IFPTE union. "This is hypocritical — you can't enforce immigration laws when you fire the enforcers."

Trump fires the judges he doesn't like and appoints new ones who are loyal to him.

At public event in PA, Trump digressed and told multiple lies in the same breath to try to brag about his uncle who he thinks taught the Unibomber at MIT and who he thinks was the longest serving faculty member at MIT.

    The Unibomber didn't attend MIT.

    Trump's uncle didn't teach him.

Trump's uncle wasn't the longest serving faculty member at MIT.

Trump Tells Impossible Story to Brag About Unabomber Link

    excerpt:

“My uncle was at MIT, one of the great professors,” Trump said. “51 years, whatever. Longest-serving professor in the history of MIT. Three degrees in nuclear, chemical and math. That’s a smart man.”

“Kaczynski was one of his students,” he continued, apparently referring to the domestic terrorist and mathematician Theodore “Ted” Kaczynski, better known as the Unabomber.

It sounds similar to Trump bragging about fictional serial killer Hannibal Lecter.

Trump has a fascination with sickly, underworld characters, real or fictional.

While commenting about the Unibomber, he said there is a thin line between genius and madman.

It was on display when Trump brought his 'moral' support to his criminal trial in NY. One of them was a former Hells Angels leader with a criminal record

Melania never showed up with Trump for his criminal and civil trials or his arrest-mugshot in GA.

The trial ended with Trump being convicted of 34 felony counts in late May 2024, about five months before the November 2024 election that he won.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2024/05/20/nyregion/chuck-zito-hells-angels-trump-trial.html

    excerpt:

"Mr. Zito was joined in the courtroom on Monday by several Trump allies who have been charged with crimes.

They included Boris Epshteyn, a legal adviser indicted in an Arizona case related to attempts to keep Mr. Trump in power after the 2020 election, and Bernard Kerik, the former commissioner of the New York Police Department, who was imprisoned for tax-related charges and later pardoned by Mr. Trump. The entourage was so large that Mr. Epshteyn helped coordinate seating."

Wife slams ICE for ambushing and arresting her husband as he tried to pick up his daughter.

Wife Slams ICE Arrest of Husband Out Picking Up His Daughter

    excerpt:

"Leidig said her husband, a native of Brazil who entered the U.S. legally during the first Trump administration, also has a Social Security number and was in the final stages of obtaining a green card. She said he received a work permit and a Social Security number thanks to his first marriage, and was in the process of obtaining a green card for the second time."

Trump gets his way again in the Senate which narrowly approved a recission of $9 billion of funding for global aid and public broadcasting.

It was a standalone rescission package, a type that hasn't passed in decades.

It's another example of the GOP in Congress giving up their control of spending to Trump.

Trump seen pocketing FIFA medal as he walks on stage to hand Chelsea replica club championship trophy

    excerpt:

Soccer fans, and even the players themselves, were also baffled after the president also made no effort to leave the stage after presenting the fake trophy – opting instead to stand and clap alongside them.

Star player Cole Palmer, who scored two of Chelsea’s three goals in the victory over Paris St Germaine, was seen reacting with astonishment as Trump initially took pride of place next to James.

In a later interview, Palmer admitted: “I knew he was gonna be there but I didn’t know he was gonna be on the stand when we lifted the trophy so I was a bit confused.”
