GOP leaders submarined by Epstein uproar excerpt: "A bonanza of subpoenas for Epstein-related materials and testimony erupted in the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. A House Appropriations Committee markup was postponed amid threats of Democrats forcing more Epstein-related materials. And a rebellion on the House Rules Committee over Epstein amendments thwarted plans for House votes, prompting leaders to begin August recess one day early."
CBS canceling Colbert has Trump's fingerprints on it, just like the riot at the Capitol. The parent company of CBS needed Trump's FCC to approve a purchase. Shortly after CBS said it was canceling Colbert, the FCC approved the transaction. Similarly, Fox fired Tucker Carlson just as it reached a settleent with Dominion to pay it $787 million for accusing Dominion of rigging the 2020 election against Trump. Fox never said that the firing of Carlson was part of the agreement. The intensity of lies Carlson was saying on Fox was as bad as those of compulsive liar George Santos. Carlson was lying at an increasing frequency and the lies were going beyond any semblance to rational thought and facts, like a runaway nuclear reaction.
Leave it to Santos to threaten people as he heads to prison. Santos could have been his usual self and lied about where he was reporting to prison. He's set a high bar of lying standards for others in the GOP to attain.
The DOJ wants to conclude that Biden's pardons aren't authentic. Trump is itching to prosecute members of the Jan. 6 committee, Dr. Fauci, and others.
Trump Set To Spend $10 Million Of Taxpayer Money To Market His New Scotland Golf Course excerpt: "WASHINGTON – American taxpayers will shell out at least $10 million over the next several days so President Donald Trump can participate in a marketing photo opportunity at his golf resort in Aberdeen, Scotland — the profits from which will flow directly into his own pocket."
Additional corruption by Trump. Trump Set To Spend $10 Million Of Taxpayer Money To Market His New Scotland Golf Course excerpt: "In April, he flew Air Force One from Palm Beach to Miami International Airport and then took a Marine Corps helicopter to his Doral golf resort less than two miles away. There, he attended a private dinner for the Saudi-backed LIV golf tournament — a business partner of his — before returning to Mar-a-Lago the same way he came. The following month, Trump flew Marine One from the White House to his golf resort in Northern Virginia to attend a dinner for the 220 winners of a contest to see who could purchase the most “meme” crypto coins he is producing."
It's obvious that it does not matter what he does--legal or otherwise. Nothing is ever going to happen to him. Too many cowards in the way.
https://www.npr.org/sections/shots-...79075/trump-medical-debt-bbb-health-insurance excerpt: "President Trump rode to reelection last fall on voter concerns about prices. But as his administration pares back federal rules and programs designed to protect patients from the high cost of health care, Trump risks pushing more Americans into debt, further straining family budgets already stressed by medical bills. Millions of people are expected to lose health insurance in the coming years as a result of the tax cut legislation Trump signed this month, leaving them with fewer protections from large bills if they get sick or suffer an accident."
Because of the way the GOP intentionally wrote the big, beautiful bill, the deleterious effects won't be felt until after the 2026 midterms.
In response to the GOP and Trump calling for increased gerrymandering of the districts in Texas to try to eke enough seats in the 2026 midterms to maintain control of the House, California is considering doing the same. California Democrats may target GOP congressional districts to counter Texas excerpt: “I think this whole thing is a horrible idea all the way around … and I don’t think people fully understand the ramifications of what they’re talking about,” said Republican redistricting expert Matt Rexroad. “Once we get to the point where we’re just doing random redistricting after every election … redistricting won’t be used as a tool to reflect voter interests. It will be used to just bludgeon minority political interests, whether it be Republican or Democrat, after every election.”
It's even worse than that. After the 2020 election, one of Trump's supporters who worked at the local level with elections in Michigan wanted to go precinct by precinct and selectively throw out votes for Biden in the Democratic-heavy precincts that she thought were fraudulent.
Trump says he's considering giving back some of the money he's taking from people with his tariffs by offering rebate checks. During his first term, Trump issued U.S. government checks to people with his name on them. Trump says he's considering rebate checks for Americans based on tariff revenue
Third court blocks Trump's attempt to end birthright citizenship. Judge blocks Trump’s birthright citizenship order in 3rd ruling since Supreme Court decision excerpt: Sorokin said a patchwork approach to the birthright order would not protect the states in part because a substantial number of people move between states. He also blasted the Trump administration, saying it had failed to explain how a narrower injunction would work. “That is, they have never addressed what renders a proposal feasible or workable, how the defendant agencies might implement it without imposing material administrative or financial burdens on the plaintiffs, or how it squares with other relevant federal statutes,” the judge wrote. “In fact, they have characterized such questions as irrelevant to the task the Court is now undertaking. The defendants’ position in this regard defies both law and logic.”
Trump Set To Spend $10 Million Of Taxpayer Money To Market His New Scotland Golf Course excerpt: “We’re going to have a meeting with ― a state meeting with the prime minister, and that’s going to be up in Aberdeen,” Trump told the BBC earlier this month. But the head of state in the United Kingdom is King Charles, and that meeting will not happen until September. Further, Aberdeen is not the capital of the United Kingdom, or even of Scotland. It is, however, home to Trump’s new golf course fronting the North Sea, the second at the Aberdeen resort, which Trump boasted about in a video posted to social media by his Trump International Scotland holding company in 2023.
Some of the farmers will still be praising Trump like they did near the end of his first term, saying they had a great year thanks to his welfare checks. They will also be more upset with posts on the web that state facts that are critical about Trump than they will about their own plight. How dare you be critical about the person who crippled my livelihood.
